I have no problem when on tv they say Louisiana State. I like LSU better, but when you figure that other schools are called, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Florida State I have no issues with Louisiana State.

It definitely bothers me. Louisiana State University sounds better than Louisiana State too. It just seems incomplete and almost has a mocking tone. I say I graduated from LSU.

"I call Florida State "Florida State" in everyday talk and not FSU. I don't know why Louisiana State pisses people off so much. It actually seems classic baseball to me. All my CWS shirts from the 90s say Louisiana St. I think it's throwback."
It goes back to how many syllables Louisiana has, it's just easier to say LSU

No. Doesn't the "L.S." in "L.S.U." stand for "Louisiana State?" You need to find other things to worry about.

UL-Lafayette uses Louisiana State when referring to anything LSU while promoting their brand of The University of Louisiana. If it was up to them, they would actually add "A&M" to it as well making it "Louisiana State A&M"

I don't mind it, but I much rather, LSU. Just like everyone else said about Penn St. and USC. You never hear them say both of those schools names in full and they rarely say ours. I am pretty sure that Vern is the only one that I hear saying, Louisiana State University.
