Hood just needs to go d2 for a year then transfer to LSU and play immediately. He's gotta sit out anyway, go play and stay in game shape, then jump back into the sec.

JUCO, you mean. That's the answer for him. A year at San Jacinto or Blinn, and he'd come here as one of the top 2-3 JC transfers in the country in all likeihood.

That would be a great scenario for us, but he would have to really want to play for JJ and Kirby to do that over being able to practice with the team he would be playing for in 2013.

Is sitting out one year that horrible?

For someone ranked as high as Rodney Hood and looking to get to the NBA asap, I'd say yes.

I just read an article about Rodney Hood and I would have to agree that with the attention this kid is getting from big name schools outside the conference there is no way he sits out a year to play in the SEC. Names mentioned have been Duke, Ohio State, Memphis, Georgetown and Louisville. We pretty much don't have a chance. Besides he is another perimeter player and we need someone underneath the basket.

He has to sit out a year no matter where he goes. If he went to the SEC, it would be 2 yrs.

He isn't getting a full release so then he has to sit out two years to play in the SEC, right?

Hood apparently has not been released to play in the SEC.

Pollard announces Friday and I have seen no indication that his top schools have changed. Too late to the party I fear.
