Moscona is almost as bad as Condon about wasting time, repeating himself and not ever getting to the point. I guess some radio guys do that to try and kill as much time as they can. And that radio voice of his just doesn't sound natural to me.

You obviously don't listen to him then. His intro from breaks is him saying "i'm very important."
Annoys the shite out of me.

True, but is there a link somewhere saying why UNT won't release him?

agree, used to like Moscona show a lot. Now the whole thing is about him listening to himself talk.

Honestly tho, he's better than the toddler triumvirate that graces the radio at the unorthodox times of 11:00 to 1:00. THOSE guys are annoying....they all sound like they're talkin on walkie talkies and never know who's turn it is to talk.

Can y'all please stop the thread hijack? This isn't a thread about Moscona.

From what perspective? The jaded school?
Obviously. The restrictions aren't in place to benefit the player.

restricting the kid to follow the coach he committed to play for, it makes no sense at all.
Does that go for players currently on the roster? Should Tony Mitchell or any other current player be able to follow Jones as well? Are you only drawing the line at incoming freshman / transfers?

It's only reasonable to me when the school is in the same conference. Outside of that, it doesn't make any sense to me.
That doesn't make sense to me. Restricting a kid to follow the previous coach is more reasonable than restricting a kid to an in-conference school. You don't want a coach to take a new job and then benefit from the work he's done while working for your university.

Did we restrict Turner's release?
Of course we did.

Which is why they're bullshite. The player can't do what the administrators and coaches can and it's not fair.

I was referencing players that never stepped foot onto campus and were recruited by the head coach. So yes, I'm "obviously" drawing that line.

Please. Restricting a kid from moving to a school you compete with because they're in the same conference is understandable. This is a reasonable restriction on a recruit.
So a coach can take a new job whenever they want and the kid is just stuck? That's your stance?

Which is reasonable. North Texas placing restrictions on a kid that has never taken a single class at said program and wants to follow the coach that recruited him to a school that doesn't even reside in the same conference is not. And as stated earlier, it's completely hypocritical based on their current hire bringing in guys he recruited while at Marquette. It's bullshite.

Is this really about the player? Or is it about Benford trying to make Jones the heavy? If Benford can paint Jones as a bad guy with the DFW media, perhaps it will make recruiting more difficult for the LSU staff in the Dallas area. Jones is not going back to UNT. But he is most assuredly going back to recruit that region.

I highly doubt UNT gets that much traction from any news/media outlet in that area.

That's not my stance at all. What I said is that it is pretty reasonable that a university would certainly want to prevent a coach who leaves from building his program with the players that he recruited while employed for that university.
I never said that a kid should be stuck.
If there was ever a reason to place a limit on a release, it would be to the school that your coach just left you for.

And we disagree. There shouldn't be any restrictions on a kid that has never attended classes and whose coach takes a new job. I think restrictions of not allowing current players go to a school in the same conference is fine, but with recruits, I think such a restriction is too restrictive.
