Went against my better judgement Saturday morning to Old River with 20mph winds and rain. It was worth it though. Tough fishing and terrible conditions, but I ended up with 4 nice bass and one small one. I got into the barfish at one point and was catching them on every cast. I kept enough to fry Saturday night and probably caught 50 more for fun. Trolling battery died at 11 after a valiant fight against the wind so I headed home.

Sunday I spent most of the day with my wife and Trevor. Played with my dogs, cleaned out my chicken coop, and hit a couple buckets of golf balls.
Also got a little practice in with the bow this evening.

Worked all damn weekend, but just got done putting 200 rds through my cc pistol. Working on shooting on the move, drawing and acquiring target rapidly, etc.

Ya just never know...

Job has been high stress the past month and will be til May 29. Great way to blow off steam, and new goals/gun exercises are a lot more fun than just standing there popping off rounds. That and I try to channel my inner top shot.

I started shooting on the move about 2 months ago, and I try to practice at least once a week if work allows. At first I was all over the place, not consistent at all. Now I do double taps, take three steps forward and right/left then double taps again. I've gotten to where a 4-round spread on a milk carton/green tea carton is 3-4 inches most times.

I didn't wet a line, but had a good weekend. Paddled the waves in pontchatrain today without flipping the yak. Also, later found myself in the middle of the most "ADULT" gators I've ever stumbled across in the wild.

First time I ever turned around and paddled out. After number 6 came off the bank heading towards me, I made a u turn and headed back out to lake pontchatrain as quick as I could.

First time ive ever Wished I had a pistol in the kayak.

So, I didn't catch anything but I didn't drown or get eaten so I'm happy as can be.

My girlfriend and I went out to a local pond and caught 50 bream. I'd say about 35 of them were pretty good size. We kept 6 to give to my grandparents since they are old and don't eat much. I also played some golf and shot 77. Pretty good weekend

I known will be asked so; my gator encounter came in the bayou that borders Fountianblue state park on the east. I've paddled te bayou on the west side of the park many times and always see a few gators. Usually 4-5 feet an they don't move around.

On the east side they were laying out on the bank sunning themselves. Saw 6 within 200 yards and one came off the bank right at me. He looked to be 8-10 feet long. As soon as I cleared the area, I turned around and. Paddled "swiftly" back to the open water. I did meet two kayak fishmen out there today. When they said they were from Baron Rouge I asked I'd the posted on TD. They said no, but indicated they would check the site out after I told them how much yak talk took place on here.
