Pitt has been to the tournament for a decade straight. They're in a better conference. They're in a better recruiting area. Pitt has been relevant during the lifetimes of current recruits. LSU has had one great season and two other pretty good ones and then before that we were good in the 80's. We are not as good a job as Pitt. Not until next year, which Wikipedia informs me will be under the coaching of Phil Jackson, and will be the first 40-0 season in quite some time. LINK

Amen! It is comical to read comments from these delusional posters (and there are lots of them) who think they know better than those who actually played and coached at LSU and the NBA. The delusion is running deeper than normal with this search for a coach.
These posters are so moronic with their comments that it makes me feel like JJ is the right man for the job solely based on their dislike of him.

No I want Jamie Dixon or Scott Drew. Have stated that over and over again since TJ left. Jones is at the bottom of my list, not because hes a terrible coach, but because he will jump at the chance if we offered. If I were to make a list of every person that has been mentioned hed be somewhere around the middle.
However (at the time I posted this) half the things on the front page were bashing Johnny Jones who isnt that bad of a candidate. Also there was a thread on this article and the entire thread was being used to bash him because Clarence Ceaser said something about the alumni game rather than debating the one thing he said about his ability to be a head coach. Therefore I made this thread to talk about the one thing.

I hope that you realize that these so called LSU "fans" are probably kids or adults who didn't make the grade to enter LSU but probably graduated from Southeastern. I bet that the majority of these "fans" don't even know where Allen Hall is or where the Indian Mounds are actually located on campus.

Shaq was the attention grabber. Dale found him on an army base in Germany. I just had to get that part of the quote in because With the way the rant is now the name clarence ceaser has been black balled because he gave his thoughts.

the people who want Jones beleave Louisiana is a great basketball state filled with Talent and Jones could lock it down.
Stanley Jacobs said this he compared Basketball talent in this state to football talent. THATS RIDICULOUS!
In football we are one of the most Talent laden states but in basketball we are very weak.
The last top 5 player louisiana produced was stromile swift I beleave.
Jones has done nothing in recruiting while at NT!
Louisiana had an exceptional and rare year in 04 but has not equaled that in 8 years.Tasmine and davis.
