Never said that. However coming off his 4th 20 win season straight that included a conference regular season and tourney title he could have gone to a low school in a major conference if he had put his name in all the open hats. That would have been the logical next step. However that was right at the time TJ won 2 conference games. He would have been mired in another rebuilding process OR keep his resume looking like one that Alleva might could get away with hiring.

If we get Jones I hope it's because more qualified candidates turned us down...not because the good ole boy network pushed him on Alleva.
I feel weird saying Shaq, Caesar etc are part of the good ole boy network but in this case they are.

Exactly. Hes not a first choice guy. The search is going on too long for that. However hes also a solid back up and the rant is going to far to bash and ostracize him as a candidate when in fact he is a solid hire. Solid job at UNT, former assistant on a final four team, and former player on another.

The support for Johnny Jones is mind numbing. Basically, we'll give him a 700k pay raise to a guy that has no leverage, no other suitors competing for his services (11 years running now), basically is the reason for the virtual death penalty at LSU whether you agree with the NCAA or not, and has done jack shite at North Texas warranting this type of pay raise all because he once coached here when we were decent.
Yay.
