Been out in 6's in the Gulf one fine April day. The Capt tried to talk us out of it at the dock. Worst part about it was that we absolutely crushed the yellowfin. Got the hell kicked out of us, but we sure didnt feel it on the way back in.

Went Salmon fishing in the Pacific out of San Franscisco and it was the only time I ever got sea sick in 10 foot rollers. Big boat, but lots of up and down. Side note: If you're ever in San Fran and feel like killing a day, go down to Fishermans Warf and hop on a Charter. You go out under the Golden Gate, then offshore and catch salmon. It was cheap and fun....minus the seas.

3'

In my experience, a forecasted 3' is more like 20footers in reality.

3-4's is questionable. Usually a no go.

2-3's is always a go

I have been out there in 8 foot swells. Wasn't bad at all. Over 3ft chop sucks.

4-5 ft. Will just go flyfishing in some river if it's going to be uncomfortable in saltwater.

Depends on the size of the boat, how far I'm going out and who I'm with

I've been out in 6's and in both a 71' boat and a 31' boat. Would rather not do it again in the 31' boat.

I look for 1-2 ft. Depends on the forecast with high pressure systems. But no way in hell am I going offshore with a 5 in the forecast. 2-3 ft maybe if it is supposed to lay down but no more.

Very little depending on the boat. I was a deckhand for a few years and saw people get sick often. The beating does not justify the results. On a decent boat I'll take 2-3s with a 4 mixed in, but its not comfortable.

Yeh im ready for this river to drop in ab a month... Hopefully we will have a good summer. We were planning to go out of Venice this weekend but the forecast just doesn't look appealing. I know it's a little far out but 5-8s generally don't turn into 2-3s

Anyone have the animated website that shows seas building across the Atlantic into the gulf? I can't find my old link

i've tried to no avail, she doesn't give a damn about marine forecasts, all that matters is sun and rain
