This episode is one of thise "nothing happened" episodes Mad Men get knocked for. It looks weak in light of the awesome 1st and 2nd of this season.

These episodes are what make the viewer so in tuned with each character. While the plot is pointless, the way they interact is not.

Good episode other than the Don dream sequence. It was a classic "uneventful" Mad Men that did a good job at setting up the rest of the season and also giving us a deeper look into where the characters are at this point.

Roger is just getting absolutely owned left and right.

Roger is going to get his swag back now that Joanie returns to the office.

It may seem like nothing happened, but there was still come action, even if you had to dig a little.

Don had a frightening internal struggle about his ability to remain faithful, while is new young wife hinted that her sexual past may be more similar to his than he thougt. (She says "We can go to other parts of town and run in to a lot of people I used to work with."

Sally is slowly developing an eating disorder. Apparently the greatness that are Bugles has not yet been explained to her.

Betty's MIL got all hot and bothered at the prospect of being tortured and raped, just like Ginsbergh said all women do.

Dawn spoke for the audience when she said "Yall sure do drink a lot."

And Joan finally got rid of her own rapist.

The whole episode was filled with rape and murder. The end credits song should have been Sex & Violence by the exploited.

A couple of interesting points. I think with Sally, you have Betty bringing her up to feel like she has to be the ideal girl at all times prior to the divorce (remember when she overreacted to Sally cutting her own hair?), and now, both Betty and her MiL are overweight and Sally finds it disgusting. Sally even requested the sandwich that she refused to eat, though she blamed that on something that was in it... relish I think... and then you have her refusing to eat the ice cream last week. Thankfully, Betty didn't let that go to waste.

More Sally and Peggy storylines...you always knew Sally would become a focal point early on in the series...she is sort of a blank slate with a history allowing for potential issues.

I've come to realize as hot as Joan is - she's not a compelling character - same with Don's wife - I'm already tired of whatever Canadian thing she brings to the show and Betty and her husband I couldn't care less.

Pete needs to be the star with Peggy as we move forward...with Don and Sally carrying the Draper flag and Roger looking to re-emerge as a player.

...although I thought she was interesting for the first time...I see her stirring some real shite between Betty and her daughter. Speaking of whom....

Sally hiding under the couch

Um, I don't think she was hiding, I think she was knocked out on a Seconal--same reason the bitch-in-law was knocked out on the couch.

Just watched and the best description I can come up with is uncomfortable. I'd like to hope it was intentional, as a representation of that transition to a new time period. If it wasn't, then that'd be disappointing.

I like Joan as a character but she's stymied as hell by Greg's existence so I'm glad his arse is gone. Get Joan back in the office. Like yesterday.

Sally with MIL was hilarious. I enjoyed her convo with Don at the top of the episode. Going to be fun to watch her with all her issues stemming from Don and Betty's dysfunctional lives.

Peggy owning Roger was fabulous.

Don's dream freaked me the hell out.

Ginsberg is interesting. Looking forward to how he develops as a character.

This episode missed Harry Crane something terrible.
