Well, if holding up a Circle K requires a kneeling shot, I guess we're good.
I haven't come across anyone in my limited circles that can shoulder fire the thing.
But, Downshift is coming, and he's like boderline SEAL, so we may have a winner.

We need to really get with the program on this...JEB too. He hasn't seen it yet, but it got to sleep at RPBs before we did the transfer. We have some fun pictures of him making the 'ol one eye with it.

I'm coming over the summer. Serious as a heart attack. My truck needs ball joints and I need to shoot that thing.
I'm going to start abusing my resources around here

Get that thing ready. Red dawn is coming on. The wolverines would have done some good with that thing.

I'll admit it, my gun isn't that big...

soooo ahhh, i want to shoot it. as the saying goes if you have to ask how much then you can't afford it. so yea i cant afford one but whats ballpark price on something like that. i could look up scopes but i have no idea on how much a .50 cal is. i think that'll be the next big gun i get after i get about 4 more raises

Depending on how custom he went with it he could have spent upwards of 15k, bushmaster makes a 50 bmg that is right around 5k

Awesome rifle bro, I will own a 50 one day, I personally like the Barrett b/c of how sexy it looks, but that AR50 is sweet!

New AR-50 runs about $3000
Serbu- which are very nice- $1895 if you can get your dealer to give you his price (order direct from Serbu)
The AR-15 .50BMG uppers are about $1800
Accuracy International- about $11,000
Barrett- $3600-$10,000
The neat thing is that they all are quite accurate and are good guns. I studied them a lot and really couldn't find anyone that was totally unhappy with any gun they bought.
Scopes are a whole new ball game. You need tons of adjustment to make the 1000 yard shot. The misconception is that the recoil of the gun hurts lower cost scopes. But, really, cheaper scopes don't have as much adjustment as their $1000 plus brothers have.
I chose Bushnell Elite Tactical for a number of reasons....
1. More MOA adjustment than Nightforce or Leupold
2. Built in the same plant in Japan as Nightforce, so we can assume that quality is similar
3. At least $1000 cheaper than Nightforce
4. Bushnell appears to be trying to make a name for themselves in this market and will refund 100% of the purchase price if customer is not satisfied for any reason w/in 1 year. Beyond that, scope has lifetime warranty.
5. I was able to read a number of reviews with people who put them on .50s and all of them agreed upon the quality.
In the end, I was able to get a $900 scope, that IMO, has good clarity at 30x and seems to have all the adjustment I needed (95 MOA)....which again was more than Nightforce or Leupold. Most scope manufacturers exaggerate their MOA adjustment range, so we'll see.
In the end, it's a lot more expensive to shoot than anything I'm used to. The Allied Precision bipod that's designed to fit on the AR-50s lower rail was $250 and you can't get away with putting cheap rings on it.
All in with the ammo I got, I'm at about $3700 bucks to play. I was very lucky- I knew this gun already (it was for a friend of mine)- he's moving to California and it's not legal there. It was a great deal- he needed to sell, and I needed an excuse to buy one. Gun when I got it had less than 100 rounds through it.
I saved my pennies for a long time for it, though, and have ZERO regrets about the coin.

Awesome gun.
The biggest I've ever shot was a .375 Ruger.
