damn does the show move quickly. the night's watch already at that guy's hut. i remember that taking forever in the book.
im a little disappointed by stannis's casting. i imagined him grayer, since hes supposed to much older. robert looked older in this show compared to him.
definitely showing a lot more robb and jamie, which im excited for.

Well, Robert is supposed to be older compared to him, not sure what your complaint would be there. Lookswise Stannis is probably a little off, but he's pretty much the right age based on the aging up process all the main characters went through in the tv series.

i somehow read that robert was the middle. idk why i thought this. i got the impression he took the crown for himself in battle, even though Stannis is older than him. makes sense now though.
my bad.

Considering that this is a thread for those who have at least read to book 2....what difference does it make?

Does the Craster/Jon Snow exchange happen in CoK? I only remember Gilly telling Jon about what Craster does.

episode 2 takes a couple of liberties with the book.
(don't read the following if you haven't seen the second episode)
Fist Asha's name change that I didn't even catch (V-something).
Kig Stannis having no sons or daughters, and his wife is "sickly" and not liked by Melisandre. When in the book, she is the one who brings Melisandre in, and they have a daughter with greyscale, who plays with a bastard of Robert's.
John Snow never saw Craster give his son to a walker, nor was he knocked out by Craster.

The lack of Stannis' daughter Shireen is quite a big liberty the writers of the show will need to get creative with later on. The rumors of her and the court fool, Greyscale being such a big deal in the 5th book...

They changed her name from Asha to Yara so she wouldn't be confused with Osha the wildling. Which is understandable since both names would sound pretty similar when spoken.
