My Tiger Stadium Expansion Design
Posted on 3/23/12 at 10:19 pm

I did this over the past week. This design would probably put Tiger Stadium at around 104,000. It wraps the east and west decks halfway up. The plan that Alleva described will probably only connect a few rows of the two decks.
My design is better...

looks really good, but is there a reason the SEZ is not the same height as the east and west uppers.i think it would look better if it was the same height.

Awesome design on the outside, but the exterior will have windows and arches that match the NEZ.

Fantastic work! Like others have said, I can only hope the actual expansion looks as good as that.
Does anyone else think putting an upper deck smaller than the one in these renderings is almost worthless? If the upper deck in theae renderings would put TS's capacity at 104,000, then I'm picturing Alleva's proposal as an upper deck with about half the rows, and that just seems silly.

NFPA 2012 requires a sprinkler system for assembly occupancies over 100,000.

You did a nice job of making it look natural. I have to point out that the discussion on this topic always seams to focus on the 1500 or so regular seats. Smalls refers to them as the only actual seats. This is just wrong. The stadium club seats and even the suites have "seats" that are not behind glass. If the expansion adds 6000 or so to the stadium capacity, it will add 6000 or so seats visible from above TS.

These two video boards in the SEZ will be larger than the one in the north end zone individually...these are some BIG arse video boards
