The wife wanted to go to Ikea so we decided to make a weekend out of it and go shopping. We were there Fri-Sun and had dinner at Pappadeaux's Friday night and Truluck's on Saturday night.

Pappadeaux's was ok. It was packed though. But I must say that the crab cake I ordered was the best I ever had.

Shrimp Brochette

Truluck's was pretty good. It was more of a fine dining type of place. I forgot to take a pic of my entree. I had the Chilean seabass with crab mac and cheese. It was delicious.

Dessert that looked like a shopping bag full of strawberries and cream

I'm a fan of Truluck's. I like when they do the all you can eat crab legs.

I liked it a lot. I'll definitely go back. I really like the live music. There was a guy belting out the old '70s soul songs (Al Green, Bill Withers, etc.)

They also have a very good lobster bisque. And a great Seafood Cobb salad.

agreed, I was told by someone who was a manager at a Pappadeaux, that they are too scared of the seafood competetion to build one in La. It would do great in BR, IMO.

No Baton Rouge needs people to support local restaurants and not treat chains like the pinnacle of all restaurant creations.

BR has a weak seafood restaurant scene considering our location and what is available one hour away in NOLA.

I was once told by a regional manager of a restaurant chain that they werent afraid of other restaurant's but that when it got down to it there were better cooks at home in louisiana cooking better fresher seafood than they could

Would rather be raped by an angry bear than step foot in that place again.
