I had show calves growing up and I loved doing it. I always took a rooster to the fair when we had our show there. We traveled all over the south to cattle shows and went to the state fair in Jackson every year and to the Dixie Nationals.

I used to show cOmmercial heifers and occasionally a steer. Never did shite in those competitive arse steer shows but I won a few buckles and more ribbons and plaques than I cam count with the heifers. Never won state though

A guy I beat at district won reserve at state once though. He was gay (literally) an stuck his tongue out at me and laughed as he walked out the ring. shite was hilarious.

I help AI for a guy that breeds show calves. My son missed the show age by one month this year
I was looking forward to getting to spend a small fortune so he could get a ribbon out a buckle this year

It does cost a small fortune to do the shows. I don`t know how my parents afforded to do it but we had a blast.

Go with a Fleckvieh Simmental. Cross great with the Brangus, and you'll get much better brood cows than with the Charlais cross.

I just got done giving reigning lessons to a couple kids. These days it seems like kids ought to stick to video games. If you are too fat to pull yourself up on a horse you probably don't need to be on one. I just had to get that little rant out cause I want to tell the parents do bad.

I have some simmental brood cows I like them but I am just really loving the charlais brangus cross. Thick long calves. Just starting to get the first calves off the charlais bull.

I'm going to build a mechanical calf to have something new to train my horses. Not sure how I'll get the mrs to pedal it for me.

I never could get into cutting. Dated a girl one time that had cutting horses, well at least their main stud was. Just didn't feel right gettin after a cow without a rope in my hand

These fricking video games are one of the worst things ever invented. Kids do nutn but sit in front of a damn TV all day playing that crap and or obese before they even become teenagers. Sorry for venting I just hate those things.

I have rode cutting horses a few times and I had a blast. Went to a small time team sorting before and had a good time.

I have horses.

A retired OTTB and an appendix QH that I'm currently training. Hunters and jumpers with them.

And my grandparents have two spotted saddle horses and a mule for trail riding.

Cutting horses are the shite. Thats what mine are. They aren't champions by any means but a pretty good ride.
