I've been away from the board all weekend. Just wondering if anybody did any good. I, for one, struck out. I has the sad now.

Didn't hunt Saturday, but did make it in the woods Sunday. I was going to bring my shotgun to bag a few woodies, But I didn't. I must of had well over 50 of them suckers within shooting.

Then a saw a small buck. AS I went to shoot, I couldn't pick it up in the scope. Once the deer pasted, I started looking at the scope. It was BROKE! The back lens was falling out. Hell, this was a new scope I put on at the begaining of the season when I bought my 45.70. I only shot this gun about 20 times. :banghead:

So, That ended that season without a bang!

went to pickup the cushions and stuff off the ladders, scouted around for next year and set out 3 cameras and my last bag of corn for some pics.

around 4:45 went to the back porch to empty the mop bucket and saw a big doe slipping across the field...in a kinda like frick you a-hole sorta way. Looked around and sashshayed on across.

Went rabbit hunting saturday with my Dad to celebrate his 60th birthday. Only jumped 3 and got a shot at one and missed. But I got to watch my dog chase em. We also shot our pistols out there at our range. So I still think it was a success since I got to spend time with my Pops.

I got out of work late Friday so couldn't hunt and decided to fish (unsuccessful) on Sunday. I heard from one of our members that they were chasing like crazy though.

That blows. What kind of scope was it?

Also, I hunted saturday afternoon. Saw a borderline buck at 600 yards. Didn't look like trying to stalk him would be worth it so I let him do his eating and just enjoyed watching him. He'll be a stud next year.

The deer got the W this season. Next year will be hard on them, since downshift will have a new rifle and a bad attitude. They're gonna get hammered like never before.

Killed a bunny yesterday. .410 headshot on the run

Getting another Tikka 25-06, or the Chester .308?

Jeff's son killed a nice 6 on #2 on the new powerline. He said he saw several bucks chasing does on Transco, all out of range though.

Killed an old Piebald Doe saturday with 45-70 out of Thomastown, MS at 5:15. Old nanny only had about 5 teeth left in her head. 1st piebald I have ever seen alive in the woods and dropped her like a bad girlfriend.

Skin it out? I think I'd try to make a rug or something with it of it looked cool.
