Miles did NOT screw up by not playing Lee

on Monday.
Now, he may have screwed up by not playing the kid more after the Nov. 5th game so as to have more confidence in him in case he needed a backup on Monday; but he didn't. The reality of the situation is Lee had played so-o-o-o little since October that it would have been careless to play him in that situation. Miles' QB strategy bit him the arse on Monday.
Did we need Lee or someone else? YES, no question. I'm NOT defending JJ's performance in ANY way. It sucked. The problem was we had no realistic option.

Jordan Jefferson either throws an interception or gets sacked every 6.25 pass attempts
Jarrett Lee either throws an interception or gets sacked every 23.8 pass attempts

You're missing the bigger issue: We should not have tailored our entire offense around the deficient skills of JJ for the last 3 years. It was always wrong.

I feel better now that you feel that way.

If the only other QB option would have been Stephen Rivers, then Miles still would have screwed up by not giving Rivers a shot.

This plus scoreboard. The OP is wrong but that's ok.

I did, and you are incorrect. No realistic option? Are you kidding? The offense with JJ put up a goose egg. It is a joke to sit here and say that Lee isn't a realistic option to put in and see if the offense could at least cross the 50 a couple of times.

Miles proved that he fricked up the QB situation for the last four years. That is true.

No, I'm not missing the bigger issue. I don't disagree with this at all. But regarding the issue of "WHO" to play, I don't think he had other realistic options. Sorry if someone can't look at this honestly, without emotion of a loss.

Agreed on the second issue. Despite being labeled team Jefferswag because I took up for the kid I always stated that Lee should have retained the starting job after bama. He was shell shocked on the 5th and needed to get his confidence back. There was no point in making a complete switch. Having both qbs ready helped the first time against bama and it may would have helped this time.
ETA despite JL being cold he should have been give a shot.

Again how can you score Les than zero points? Are there negative points in football? What would it have hurt? Besides giving someone else a shot it would have given a shell-shocked JJ a much needed break even if for a few plays.

So you think Miles made a good chioce by sticking it out with JJ? On Monday Night?>

Yes, you are. And even looking at just the NCG in isolation, we still had an entirely different type of offense that we ran with Lee at QB for over half the regular season. This justification of Miles just because people around here hate "Rantards" is getting out of control. The facts speak for themselves.
