Everyone keeps saying this, but it's beside the point. It's like if a guy gets hit by a truck then I walk up and knock him on the head with a hammer. Yeah the truck did more damage than I ever could but that doesn't mean it was a good idea.

OK started reading the thread, but stopped.

Anybody keeping count of the "Bobby is right"
"Bobby is an idiot" and the "I agree with half of what he said" groups?

my guess:
Bobby was right - 30%
Bobby is an idiot - 50%
I agree with half of what he said - 20%

me - Bobby is and idiot

This is a good way of putting it. It was a shite gameplan/result the team was flat...blame the coaches but don't set fire to the god damn program for Christ's sake.

Bobby Hebert has made one thing clear: he is not a journalist, he's just a fan with a voice.

Bobby says that he's like the guy sitting on the couch drinking a beer and rooting for LSU.

As such, when Bobby says something, it is not a voice of authority, it's just the opinion of one fan. Now, Bobby has a lot more football knowledge than almost all the fans, but, he IS JUST a fan with a voice.

So, if Bobby goes crazy on bashing Les Miles, he's just another fan expressing an opinion.

Except his voice is heard throughout the southeast. And if he's outrageous enough, it gets picked up nationwide. And like it or not, having been an NFL QB carries credibility.

Anybody who hears Bobby speak on this issue needs to realize that he's just a fan speaking. There's no need to give his opinion some kind of incredible life-affecting influence. That's all I'm saying.

Now if some kid changes his mind about LSU because of what Bobby Hebert says, then, that kid is very misguided to do so.

Ya Know i read all these post and some of you say what a radio talk show hosts does is gonna hurt our program more than what Miles did or didnt do the other night, really. Ive been a tiger fan all 47 years of my life, use to go to the baby Bengals games ,remember them older guys. Im as big a fan as any, but if my son were the number one qb in the country, even i would think twice about letting miles coach him ,sorry if that hurts its just the truth. I think we as fans deserve to freaking know why this offensive team had no ,none nodda plan B agasint Bama! What fricking kinda coach goes into battle without one. So i dont blame Hebert for feeling the way he does.

Recap of 1993 Saints playoff game vs. the Eagles

The two teams exchanged field goals in the third quarter, and the score was 20-10, New Orleans, going into the final period.

With less than 11 minutes left in the game, Cunningham connected with wide receiver Fred Barnett for a 35-yard touchdown completion. Then on the first play of the Saints' next possession, Eagles linebacker Seth Joyner intercepted a pass to set up running back Heath Sherman's 6-yard touchdown, giving Philadelphia the lead, 24-20. After New Orleans got the ball back, Eagles defensive lineman Reggie White sacked Hebert in the end zone for a safety. Philadelphia kicker Roger Ruzek then added a 39-yard field goal, and 19 seconds later, defensive back Eric Allen intercepted Hebert and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown.

Great job, Bobby.

He has press credentials by virtue of his working at WWL. He's not a journalist, nor does he claim to be. He's not just a fan, either, though. He's a commentator, however.

He doesn't. He's not a 'journalist'. He's a color analyst, and a talk show host, paid to critique and give his honest opinion. You calling Bobby a 'journalist' is the equivalent of making Cowherd or Finebaum a journalist. Now Guilbeau, there's a journalist.

Podcast for those that missed it

FTR I am anti Bobby, I genuinely cannot stand the man, and think hes mostly a bumbling drunken idiot.

That being said, I do not see anything wrong with his comments, they were all spot on, and instead of beating around the bush with it he just came out and said it which is what I guess everybody has a problem with.

While I agree that Miles got totally shown up and out coached on every level, it's just like Craig James commenting on Mike Leach, you lose all credibility when you can not be objective. Ya boy spent most of his career on his back, pancaked. Get over it.

^^this...you can like miles as a person, heck even i do, but when it comes to coaching and understanding the game, he struggles. People who know the game see this. If you doubt me ask yourself with all the wins that LSU has had since Miles, how many coaching OFFERS did Miles have? None. Don't say Michigan bc I KNOW he was not OFFERED, they ended up going a different direction...why is that? You think everyone in college and NFL is stupid? No rantards you are...he just aint got it

I'm not blasting Miles on national radio. What gives Bobby the right to? His mediocre NFL career? Did he win a BCS title? He is completely out of line, as a parent of a player, going on national radio and saying he has "forgot more football than Les Miles knows".
