he wont even play DE in the NFL
Sonic99 is #3 rated DE on the CBSsports draft prospect rankings and #32 overall. LINK
Most don't have him ranked at all though, you are correct. He's a bit undersized and likely ends up as a 3-4 outside linebacker is my guess.

It would be a big blow if we lost them both, especially Brockers. I think Rasco will be ready next year and Lavar Edwards is a very solid player.
That being said, if we are coming off a national championship year having lost two young D-linemen to the NFL presumably as high draft picks, LSU will basically be able to hand-pick defensive linemen recruits next year. The big recruiting windfall usually comes the year after a national championship and we would have early PT/NFL prep to sell.

I think the OP may have been referring to Ciron Black. I think he was projected as a mid to late 1st rounder after his Jr year, and ended up an undrafted FA after his Sr year.
ah, ok, . I'm not sure the projection is 100% accurate though. If we go by what fans say there are probably 100-150 "projected" 2012 first round picks
No way to know if a guy would have been drafted with out him working out for teams, going to the combine etc. Black didn't get hurt as far as I know, he could have made up for poor performance with good work outs, but he didn't workout well and fell out of the draft. Same thing could have happened had he gone early.

Beg to differ. Neither of those guys has peaked yet. Both could be first rounders with another season under their belts.
at a minimum, Sam's stock would rise with showing another injury-free year. durability is huge.

I wonder how many more times that question will be answered by people that just read the first page

Yeah, getting hurt after coming back was devastating to Sam Bradford

IMO neither will go in the first 2 rounds. They've both been good and very solid, but they rotate a lot to stay fresh. Also, neither have been dominant. They've both played great, but not dominant and only for a year. I think another year definitely could move both into the first round. If they both go this year, I think it would be a mistake. JMO. Good luck to both in whatever decision they come to.

Based on pure talents, the JRs talked about as potential early exits to the NFL are all at 1st round level. The problem is that none outside of Morris are going to be definite first round locks.
Randle has been great this season, and has showed flashes last year. Despite his measurables, teams likely have some other guys ahead of him at WR including:
Blackmon, Floyd, Kendall Wright, Alshon Jeffrey, and psosibly still Broyles.
Only 3 WRs went first round last year. Only 4 went in the first 50 picks.
In 2010, only 2 went in the first round and both late with only 4 again in the first 50 picks.
It will help Randle a lot to come back for another year, because he will be picked as the 4th WR at best this year and could go as the #1 WR next season.

Sam is much higher rated than Brockers, but is only ranked a top 3 DE on one non-fan site that I've found. He could be the #1 DE next year if he comes back, puts on some size, and improves his repertoire of moves. He'll also need to show he can cover a bit, because he's likely a bit undersized for a 4-3 DE. If he ends up as a pass rushing specialist (largely because of his size), he won't go that high to teams.

If we beat bama again, I don't care if all the starters leave.

I could see SM in a Von Miller type roll, but he's not there yet. Another year could push him into the top 10-15 range. Just not sure if he's worried about another injury at this point. If so, then good luck with his decision.
Brockers, on the other hand, needs to prove that he can be a disruptive force. He's come on strong in the last few games, but I think another year would be great for him. He could definitely earn all SEC honors and potentially AA. That and a good combine, could make his stock soar.

Depends on whether it's first round $$. The new CBA has much tighter limits for signing bonus and rookie contract.
They should ask for an evaluation and, if the prospects fr good $ are there, they should go.

I read on here somewhere that Sam will be the #2 DE in the draft if thats the case he must go.

If we lose Claiborne, RR, Brockers, and Montgomery, next year went from being a possible repeat to being a much bigger question mark, in my opinion. If that happens, we will only be returning 4 defensive starters, I believe.
Man, I hope they stay. I realize that Claiborne is gone as he is a sure top 10 pick, but I did not count on the others.

I doubt either are taken in the first 2 rounds, maybe Brockers but late. Big mistake by both imho.

no way. Not much higher. You cant trust what you read on the internet all the time.

his size is one of his assets, because that is why he can move so well.. He'll likely be a rush OLB in a 3-4 and those guys go fairly high.
I dont think the question is "if he becomes a pass rushing specialist".... he is built for that, and that is where he will make his money, esp with all the 3-4 team in the NFL now.

yeah but you read it from Dreaux writing it. Dreaux is like a young dandy don who thinks the sky is falling.
