If we beat Bama I wouldn't mind if they left. We got enough debth and a good recruiting class coming in. Plus Les said Jordan Allen has been doing well in practice. The next Jared Allen?

I don't know if they should come back or not. That decision will be made for them by other people depending on where they would likely be drafted. It is odd to me that each of these players really only played one full year in college and if they could get that insurance, not aflac, to guard against injury, both would benefit in playing another year at LSU. If not, oh well...reload!!

Are either one even projected to go in the first 2 rounds?

The "2012 team is going to be better" talk is going to take a good hit if we lose our 2 best dlinemen.

This? I've been looking for the entire Rookie scale, but can't find. I've seen it before somewhere.

I think it would be a huge mistake for Montgomery to go this year. I think one more year and his stock would be much higher.

Nah. He may win more awards next year but I doubt his draft outlook will change. He has been injured once, I am sure it plays into his decision.

For that matter...Loston, Mingo, Williford, Logan and Minter could all leave if they wanted to.

About half the guaranteed money.

#10 got $12M
#13 got $10M
#15 got $9.3M

#33 got $5.3M

So roughly half the money if you end up just as the 1st pick of the 2nd round.

Mid second round gets about $4 million.

These are total contracts, so they are gaining alot by coming back.

For example, if they go 28th (like Ingram), they get about $1.8 M/year. If they go top 13, They get $2.5M/year.

So if the come back for another year and improve to the top half of the draft, they will make the same in 3 years they made in 4 with the other contract, plus have another year of money, guaranteed on top of that.

It is definitely worth it to come back for Sonic99. He could end up going #7 like Smith and get $14+ and double his first contract if he went in the back end of the 1st round.

6'6" 300+ pound DT beasts don't grow on trees. And I'm sure some scout somewhere will discover this diamond in the rough hiding in the middle of the line of the fricking national champions.

It'll be a big loss if we lose claiborne, montgomery, brockers, and randle to the draft. Hopefully they don't all leave.

I think the OP may have been referring to Ciron Black. I think he was projected as a mid to late 1st rounder after his Jr year, and ended up an undrafted FA after his Sr year.

Hey, maximus, maybe you should google on how to get an image correct, not backwards.

Their stock will never be higher,

Beg to differ. Neither of those guys has peaked yet. Both could be first rounders with another season under their belts.
