Has Mett lost a year of eligibility this year?

Sorry guys if this was already discussed. As I understand, a JUCO transfer like Mett generally has 2 years to play 3. With the limited playing time he has seen, has he burned 1 of his 2 years - or will he still have 2 beginning next season? (This assumes his playing time this season is done now that JJ is back).

He had already redshirted, so he had 3 to play 3.

How else could it have gone?

Like the others said, in Mett's case he had 3 to play 3, so it's a moot point.
However, for future reference, once a player takes 1 snap, his redshirt has been burned. So a guy like Kenny Hilliard, who has had only 3 or 4 carries, has still lost his year just like OBJ who has played a ton.
A medical redshirt can be granted if a player has played in a small number of snaps in the first 4 games, and has a season ending injury. That's what happened to Loston back in 2009, he messed up his hand at Washington and only played a few snaps, so they applied and got his year back.

He had 3 to play 3.
When he CAME here, JJ was the starter and Lee was the backup.
NOTHING has changed from the time that he enrolled except that Lee is the starter and JJ will be the backup.
This incident / reinstatement has had ZERO effect on what his expectations were when he enrolled at LSU

Not true at all. If JJ does indeed redshirt it will completely frick up Mett's tenure at LSU.

No. Mett would start and JJ would be his backup. Which is why it will not happen. JJ will play this year and be a good team player and the backup.
