JL is the QB right now. He is the best option of what we have available to us.

People who flame you, do so because you try to turn every thread you participate in into a "JL is the greatest and no criticism of him will be tolerated" situation.

IMO he looked more than comfortable inthe pocket.
Two play action throws out of the endzone were money.

He throws the football the way he throws it.

Past two games he is 30-37 for 337 yrs 2td and a pick.

Will never happen. I am proud of how Lee is playing, but his mechanics are what they are. You are not going to change that mid-season. It doesn't really affect his throws that are under 30 yards. It only is an issue when he tries to go farther than that.

I also noticed Lee hesitate while mid throw and then end up throwing off his back foot. It made me cringe everytime during the pass but the throw usually ended up an accurate throw.

its by design and the running backs asked that it be that way. Jefferson would hurl the bowl like a bullet from a yard away. They had to tape their fingers.

Yep.
Lee has horrible footwork. That is obvious.
He has learned to throw the ball accurately (for the most part) despite his terrible footwork.

He's a 5th-year senior. He is what he is.
If he keeps playing the way he is playing, we have a chance at a MNC. That's all that matters at this point.

And to the OP, yeah the timing and spacing was definitely off between Lee and the RBs last night.
Anyone who thinks that was by design is crazy.
Hopefully they will improve on that.

He's been the best option for the last couple of years.

I have enjoyed the last 3 weeks, not biting my nails late in the game, with no timeouts, even against inferior opponents, wondering why we looked so bad. We have beaten 2 ranked opponents and the games were well in hand going into the 4th quarter, with no 3-and-outs.

Especially after the cluster**** of switching OCs weeks before the opener.

Why don't you just start a JL/JJ thread.

It seems to be what you are fishing for IN EVERY THREAD YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN. . .

All we need from him is 150-200 yards, TD or two, and minimal TOs per game and we're set. Sort of like a less-talented, more cautious version of Flynn or Mauck.

Is that good enough to win championships? I don't think so. I am glad for the win, and they will win a bunch of games, but I don't think "cautious" and "conservative" is going to win the big games.

what exactly is it goint to take for you (and others) to be 100% sold on Jarrett Lee?

If people were 100% Mauck and Flynn, they should be sold at least 99% on Lee.

In '03 Mauck threw for less than 3000 yards and finished with 14 INTS (He had a 2:1 TD to INT ratio) and zero TDs in the Championship game.

In '07 Matt Flynn threw for less yards than Mauck and had 11 INTS to his 21 TDs.
Neither of which put up All SEC, Heisman ZOMG numbers.
They managed games - which is all Lee is being asked to do.

Lee is on pace to have a VERY similar season.

Mauck entered the '03 season with only 6 career starts during a time when the SEC wasn't what it is today.
Flynn entered the '07 season with only ONE career start - a bowl game.
Lee is coming in with 9 starts plus big game experience splitting time with JJ - all during time period of SEC domminacne orchestrating 4th Q comebacks and playing away games at big venues.

I've got 110% confidence in Lee this season because he's battle tested and has experience in the SEC when its at its best.

That not what he is doing. Im sure they call 2 plays in the huddle. The hand signal determines which one. Or he is indicating where a certain defender or blitz is coming from. But i guarantee you Lee didnt decide to do that on his own or that it means the same thing everytime.
