Herbie said Michigan's TD pass (instead of tying FG) showed courage....but LSU's against Auburn a couple of years ago was crazy....go figure...

Mike Patrick said it was the call of the year, and he was right...until the Florida game. Then there were about 5 of them.

As they were setting up for the play, he was saying run the ball to the middle of the field, call timeout, and kick the FG.

8 secs left assclown. You take a shot at the end zone.

A FG would have tied the game for Mich whereas a FG would have won the game for LSU.

That's why a throw was brave for Mich but crazy for LSU

Not sure how it takes courage to throw a ball that was about 95% chance of TD this game. #4 still doesn't realize the ball is in the air or that he could just tackle the WR to not give up the game.

Sort of...but you have 8 secs left and two timeouts. If you don't see a guy after four seconds, throw it away. Field Goal on to tie it. Even a sack, quick TO. Plus clearly the idea was just take one shot at the endzone. The call made sense.

Yep, something like that. And there were 16 seconds on the clock. Miles was not completely confident in the kicker, and he knew he could take a shot and still have enough time to kick. And he was right.

Honestly, the announcers overblew the danger of that call for Les. They acted like if it was incomplete time would have run out when in reality we still would have had 4 or so seconds for a FG.
