Grew up listening to John Ward, when we could hear him. I was in Atlanta and a UT fan.
I'm pretty positive that some of his calls of a touchdown: he's to the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Pause. Is he in? Pause. Yes. He. Is. ended after the extra point had been kicked and they were lining up for the kickoff.
Also, became a big fan of Munson. Not so much from listening to UGA, but the time he spend doing the Falcons games. I've never heard an announcer so emotionally invested in the outcome of a game. He always gets so nervous: "Look at that stupid clock, there are 452 seconds left in the game and that stupid clock just seems to be stopped. Somebody make it start running again."
Al Ciraldo from Ga Tech was another good one that I used to enjoy listening to growing up. He just had a voice made for radio.
Pete, Skip, Don and Joe were great to listen to.
