Why television breaks help the Oregon Ducks.

Oregon fans made complaints several times about how TV and 'the Refs' slow down their offense at times, but what about how they help their defense?
One huge risk you run with a fast paced offense is not allowing your defense to get a break, but their defense gets two breaks even if they three and out on offense. TV break before their offense gets the ball, and even if their offense is on the field for 30 seconds, they get another TV break before their defense would seemingly have to come right back on the field...

Oregon's strategy is to wear your defense out because we feel we can outscore you and it doesn't matter what the defense does. That's why Oregon plays so many more players regularly on defense than most teams. The time outs hurt us because they give your defense more time to rest. Oregon wants to make them run wind sprint after wind sprint with only a few seconds in between each.

Yeah, because it's crazy to think that one of the best offenses in the country the last 3-4 years will have that type of confidence.
Fvcking dumbass

Best offenses in the country vs shitty Pac 10 defenses. How'd they fare against Auburn?

Auburn didnt exactly score a lot against that shitty Pac 10 defense

So a timeout only gives one team a break?

If we had to play Oregon in the middle of the year, I would be worried about this strategy, but given that we've prepped for this all summer and all camp, I'm confident we'll be able to handle the pacing.

That's the point. The offensive pace doesn't allow the Defense to sub out while the offense can still slip a few guys in and out. And the offense is banking on the strategy they are better conditioned so they can keep running those windsprints and by the 5-6 play they start getting you to make mistakes. Look at the games Oregon played. Teams were faking injruies and falling over to stop the play. Oregon never had to do that and never slowed down. Don't you think they wanted more TV timeouts?

At a Clemson fan talking shite about anything. Good luck going 7-5 again this season behind Dabo's brilliant leadership.

So your strategy is to score more points than the other team. Groundbreaking.
Which teams have a strategy that doesn't try to outscore the other teams out of curiosity?

btw, that Oregon defense will not be in Dallas in September. It will be in NFL camps.

Sorry apparently you have to spell out statements in the rant. Maybe next time I'll draw pictures in crayon.
My point was Oregon is happy to make it a shoot out and feels our D would get enough stops to win.

and MY POINT is that is a stupid point because to win a football game, naturally, you need to score more, so trying to outscore your opponent is what everyone does.
ETA: What you are saying is stupid in the same way it is stupid to say that a team is trying to "get more possessions through turnovers." Barring a binge on onside kicks, the number of possessions is usually even or plus or minus one. Take your platitudes somewhere else.

JW! If you don't want TV breaks, tell Oregon to stop playing games on TV, lose all the TV money, gtfo! TV FTW!

Anyone who worries about the impact of television breaks should not be allowed to watch football.
