FOXBORO — Stevan Ridley has done the most important part already. The rookie running back has shown up.

While fellow first-year rusher Shane Vereen has missed most of camp with a leg injury, Ridley has used the opportunity to impress. The former LSU product and third-round pick made a major impression in the Patriots [team stats]’ 47-12 win last night against the Jaguars in the preseason opener at Gillette Stadium.

How cool with it be to see a Kevin Faulk/Stevan Ridley duo for New England during the season.

Question is who will be the odd man out? Law Firm is the starter. Ridley just blew up with 3 touchdowns in the first game. Vereen added 2 more touchdowns. Faulk is their 3DB guy usually. Woodhead did fantastic last year and really seems like a great 3DB as well. Doubt they carry 5 running backs.

Add Sammy Morris too. 6 guys, thinking that 2 have to bounce.

FYI, if you look at the box score for that game. Richard Murphy led Jacksonville in rushing too.

Steve is the man. He is going to be a solid NFL RB.

Most impressive stat for Ridley

Caught 7 out of 8 balls thrown to him for a score and a good bit of yardage.

Stevan Ridley's a MF'n boss. So happy for him to go in and have a dominating performance like that. I hope he has another next game

I hope they get a chance to play a gwood bit in a game this year. Keiland got in a game and scored 3 times last year. I wonder if Ridley could pass up BGE in 2-3 years.

I always thought he was underrated here. He ran very well behind a line that wasn't great in my opinion. He also has great change of direction for his size. I mean who wouldn't want a RB that is 225Lbs, shifty, and can catch the ball out of the backfield.
