This has got to be the dumbest, most pointless thread ever.
Agreed. It's pure ignorance. And I assumed that everyone who frequents the Recruiting Board had a basic understanding that LSU Football wants the best players possible, regardless of race.

You should ask this question out loud before you post, and you would hear yourself how idiotic this is. What a shame.....

Purple and gold only colors that matter. Can we please get past this race issue in Louisiana ? Makes us look more redneck than an Alabama mullet.

White football players sometimes get overlooked b/c of their color.
If you personally follow recruiting first hand by actually going to games, not watching youtube videos, you will see it.
But on average, black players are better than white, hence the reason the SEC is the best conference in football.

Why is RB-Danny Woodhead(better than Joe McKnight) said to resemble the "team trainer" in the airport?? Yet Kevin Faulk(only 5'-8" too) was never mentioned this way in his younger days?? WHY? preception..the white boy should not be pigeon-holed to always be the QB or O-Lineman....
Because the media likes to play up the angle of the plucky little white engine that could. If Woodhead was black no one would talk about him.

While at LSU...I'd hear DWF's (drunk white fans) ticked at Hester being stuffed at line; them saying "put whitey on the bench"...
I'm sure in-game fan conversation about Jefferson is 100% politically correct

DE Jordan Allen barely arrived on campus and many were wondering when he would move to O-Line w/o even giving him a chance..Will Blackwell is athletic enough to play D-Line...if he where at Nebraska or Wisconsin he would be.
Joe Barksdale is black and the same thing happened to him.

Well, we're fricked at LB then because over half those guys are white. Johns, Duplessis, Welter, Muncie and we just offered another white boi...

LSU is not discriminating against the white football player. Perhaps the post could be re-worded as "why are there not more white football players playing D1 football" or something like that.
MLB looked at this issue years ago when fewer blacks were playing. Now there are more Latin Americans playing baseball. I think it is more related to blacks play football/basketball more, Latin Americans play baseball more, etc.
I think it would be nice to see a more balanced representation, as there are alot of very good white football players out there playing, but I DO think LSU is going after who they perceive to be the best athlete, regardless of color. If that happens to be more black athletes then that is how it falls. I am NOT for the affirmative action type policy, leave skin color out!
Hard to argue against the recruiting classes we have been getting. They give us a very good chance to win the SEC and compete for a national championship year in and year out.
I DO hope that if a white kid comes along who can play, especially if he is playing a position like RB, WR, DB, etc, that he is given the chance regardless of the stereotype. The black QB overcame this stereotype years ago, maybe now the white skilled position guys can do the same?
May the best man get the job!
