name the top rivals of lsu, iyo

For me, it's
1. bama
2. auburn
3. ole miss
Bama cause they are historically the strongest program in the division and Nick Saban, duh.
Auburn because they felt like our true rival when I was in college, close games, basically won half of them, and the games usually decided the west.
And ole miss because in lsu's history they are the closest thing to a rival that we have, amd their fans really hate us. That counts for something.

to me it's bama, ole miss and arkansas. yes, arkansas; i'm getting damn tired of losing to them even when we have a better overall team. they live to beat us and it's pissin' me off.

Auburn is my personal rival. I hate everything about that school. Other than Ole Miss, I'm okay with most other SEC schools, but I like Alabama.

Tulane used to be our biggest rival back when they were in the SEC, then they fell off the face of the earth and that big time rivalry lost significance. Which now to me you play your biggest rival the last week of your schedule. We play for the "hideous" Golden boot against Arky, Arkansas like us does not have an Equal in the state, like say Florida, alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, the carolinas, TX.. You can say Auburn or Bama or Ole Piss but to them their biggest rivalry is in their own state. JMO Arky is our biggest rival...

Its Ole Miss. There are more important games but Ole Miss is LSU's chief rival.

I don't view Florida as a rival. Important game every year for certain but its clearly not a rivalry game. Neither is Bama or Arky. Rivalry games supersede records and importance.
Ole Miss is our rival. Let the Rebels start to capture the Mississippi talent like they once did and the younger posters will have an opportunity to experience one of the great rivalries in SEC history.

This is interesting that i got a few Arkansas mentions. The reason i started the thread was to see if Arkansas would be mentioned. I dont consider them a rival.

I don't know if there is any wrong answer here.
1. Arkansas - They are our biggest rivals in today's college football. The rivalry just needs a bit more history to catch up with others on our schedule, like:
2. Ole Piss - No. 1 rival historically
3. Auburn - Our favorite program to hate
4. Bama - Quickly taking over Auburn as most hated (if not already so)
5. Florida - Every SEC West program should have an East Rivalry. Our's is the best of them, and just needs a bit more history to catch up with other storied rivalries: Bama vs. Tenn and Auburn vs UGA.

6. Tulame - It is just plain stupid that our biggest in-state revalry is not on the schedule every year. However, it is even more stupid to play them anywhere but Tiger Stadium. "Wake up an smell the booze, Tulame."

I still don't really understand the resistance (from both sides) in accepting that LSU v Arkansas is a rivalry game. Maybe because of the way the conference tried to force it on us?
However, it is in the best interest of both schools to have a mutual No. 1 rival. And for LSU v. Arky, that pretty much leaves one option...each other.
In the short time we've been playing Arky, the actual games, outcomes, and drama have given LSU everything they could want in a true rival. I think some (most?) of us just need to filter out all the BS that was forced (i.e. boot, etc.).

All of the schools that LSU considers rivals do not think of us as a rival, except maybe Ole Piss. They think that we are an important game, but not their rival. Their rivals are:
Bama= Au and Tenn
Florida= Ga,Tn, and FSU
Ga= UF and Ga Tech
Ark= Texas and Texas A&M
Ole Piss= MSU and LSU
Bama= Au and Tenn
Florida= Ga,Tn, and FSU
Ga= UF and Ga Tech
Ark= Texas and Texas A&M
Ole Piss= MSU and LSU
