How much improvement do you expect in your offense?

This isn't me flaming you all, I just want to get to know your offense a little bit better.

I know you recently hired a new coordinator, so there should be some hiccups in your offense when you move to a new scheme.

Also, I know you are losing your top rusher and a senior wide out (I think some guy(s) on the o-line too).

You guys were decent at running the ball, but really couldn't get anything going through the air. After watching your spring game, it still seems like a common theme with all 3 of your QBs.

Even though Oregon is breaking in a few new defensive players, we may not have to play stellar to slow your offense down.

What do you guys expect from your offense this year? How much better do you think your passing game will be in the 1st game when it looks like Jefferson will be the starter? The worst thing that could happen to LSU in this match up would be having this game turn into an Oregon offensive clinic.

A whole HELL of a lot. I expect LSU to have the #1 rushing offense in the SEC this fall.

A few things...

We have had too many hiccups with the old system with crowton-- possibly asthma

This year should be a much *improved group from last year, we won't set records

Out defense is way too stout to allow an 'Oregon clinic'

First year with Crowton it was incredible... just saying that a new coordinator doesn't necessarily mean we will have trouble.

Our RBs will be better. Trust me that's the last position on offense I'm worried about. RR has better hands than TT did, so he will do just dandy at WR. OL will be much improved imho as well. (we only lost Barksdale if I am remembering correct.)

You won't be putting an offensive clinic on the Best secondary in the nation, and likely top 5 DL in the nation.

I expect our offense to play to our strengths this year, and be much less predictable. If all 92,000 in attendance don't know what's coming, that will be an improvement. Such as RS getting more than just a Jet Sweep.

ETA: and if we play to our strengths, that would mean running it down your throats. Your fast playcalling, if held to 3 and outs, would really really hurt you.

where there ever not hiccups??

and replacing both of them with guys that are even better. Spencer Ware and Ford beat Ridley any day, and Randle is infinitely times better than Tolliver, also not a diva

Our offense is going to be much better, especially during this game because Les and JJ have their best games when they have more than a week to prepare. But the game will be won by our defense, just like always. Our offense will be just good enough to put more points on the board than yours.

LSU has no chance.
We suck in out of conference games.
our coach is terrible when he has time to prepare.
We are pitiful in big games too.
Our fans are dispassionate and no help to our team.
We are thin throughout the roster.
We play in a weak conference so our great record is deceiving.
If we were in the Pac-10 we'd be dueling Wazoo for last place.
we are slow and lack depth.
Have mercy.

I certainly don't expect the passing game to be as shitty as it was last year. I also expect the defense to be better than it was last season as well.

We had no offense last year. This year.. we will have an offense. It may not shatter records but we finished with 11 wins with probably the worst offense in the country.

Very little unless JJ has improved a lot in the offseason.

Ridley was a tough runner but ware should have more big yardage runs. He should also be a good checkdown for jj. If krags is a qb coach surely this will be utilized more.

O line brings back a lot of experience and judging from spring videos shep can actually catch now. Not sure how big of a factor he will be but if jj can actually hit him stride he could have some big plays.

Plus crowton gave away most of our plays depending on the package he ran. It was like in techmo bowl when they picked your play but you could still gain a few yards if you broke a tackle behind the los.

Just imagine the damage lsu can do with the actual element of surprise on a non 4th down play.

we're not really going to a new scheme as much as we're emphasizing what we do well. the Cotton Bowl is pretty much what I think we'll try to look like on offense: hard-nosed running, some option mixed in, and a greater emphasis on the deep ball. of course there'll be other stuff, but those are the things we'll stress primarily. we bout to ball out this yr.

This!

The o line will be lights out. We lost, for a while, a great blocker in Will Blackwell at the first snap of the first game last season. He was ahead of schedule and played again before our season ended. (look up will Blackwell block against auburn 2 yrs ago if you want to see what he can do.) Lonergan is great at center and we have excellent RB's, WR's. Call me crazy, it wouldn't be the first time, but I think JJ will be great in the season opener.

If you saw our offense last year, I don't know how anything that will be on the field this year could have hiccups. Our offense WAS hiccups. lol

The new coordinator will only a
Cease the hickups. The problem with Gary crowton and the ol offense Is that it was too complicated. We were limited to Wgat we could play. I expect the offense to be more simplistic but much more effective in producing yards and big plays.

Two SR QB's & a JUCO NC caliber back up - check

Veteran RB's, & OL - check

Upgrade at primary WR - check

I'd say we are doing a little better
