I am trying to find out if these two are owned by the same people. I love the heiner brau strawberry, but have also seen covington brewhouse strawberry. I would think they are different, but heiner brau's website has covington brewhouse on it. What's the deal

I'm pretty sure they are one in the same.

Same
I believe heiner brau tries to brew with more traditional german methods. Covington seems to be more open to craft styles

It's the same stuff.
Just marketed as either Heiner Brau or Covington depending on the beer.

They are the same. Look on the Covington bottles. They say Heinerbrau on the label.

yea, i e-mailed heiner brau this morning and wasnt expecting an e-mail quickly, but they did confirm that it was the same. Now i just need to find who carries the covington brewhouse. I would think albertson's or winn dixie

Most grocery stores will have it. Calandro's definitely. I'm almost positive I saw some in Bet-R the other day... definitely the Ponchartrain Pilsner, and I think the Strawberry too.

Wholefoods definitely has the strawberry brew. I saw it there two days ago.

Heiner Brau was bought out by Covington brewhouse a few months ago. The Covington Strawberry is the same as the old hiener brau strawberry. My bartender said they gave him a new tap handle to put on mid keg. No difference.

They told me they have the 2 brands because some people thought they were buying an import when buying Heiner Brau.
Covington Brewhouse is for other beers and people know for sure it is local
ETA: The Pontchartrain Pilsner is awesome

This. We have it on tap. The keg is still labeled as Heiner Brau, but the tap handle says Covington.

Yeah, they bought it out but still work as seperate breweries with the same brewmaster at Hiener Brau (that german dude).

Bought some of the Covington Strawberry and find it doesn't have a strong strawberry taste. Does that depend on the six-pack?

Maybe, but all the bottles ive gotten where pretty even.
I know you have to store their kegs upside down b/c they have alot of sediment. If you store them right side up for too long all the sediment falls to the bottom and you get a strawberry beer smoothie for the first part of the keg, and the last part of the keg is thin.

I thought it was pretty good but I wasn't crazy about the bayou bock. Haven't seen the bottles of strawberry in Lafayette yet.

I wasn't crazy about either one but I liked the bock better thant he pilsner. I like Hiener Brau's Marzen alot.

That one and the strawberry are the only two that I've really enjoyed and would buy again.
I'll dare say that the Heiner Brau Märzen is actually better than Abita Amber.

I'll say it. I bought a case of it when i heard they were selling the brewery for fear they would change the recipe or cut it alltogether. Thankfully it is still operated the exact same.
