Because Charlie Weis even through the debacle at ND put up great offensive numbers.

They gained like 12 yards at Michigan one year.

Weis had great numbers until Brady Quinn left. With Clausen he struggled for two years. Kragthorpe will do fine at LSU.

Weis wasn't hired at LSU, or he'd be getting hammered. Head coaching isn't a testament to OC ability anyway.

They were held to like one first down all game long in a shutout loss to USC one year as well.

But on the whole, I suppose his offenses were pretty good at ND.

Weis at ND 35-27
Krag at UL 15-21

Now explain this "debacle"...

It doesn't take much to put up great offensive numbers against Notre Dame's cupcake schedule.

No Tom Brady did. In fact, Brady made Josh McDaniels look good.

Because he developed Tom Brady, won some Superbowls, and returned to the NFL after his failed attempt at being a head coach in the college ranks and turned around the offense of one of the perrenial doormats in the NFL.

I don't remember weis going unscathed from his ND days. I also am not seeing how Kragthorpe screwed up. the AD at UL even admitted to fudging the process by making SK keep members of the old staff. I don't think you are comparing apples to oranges here but I also don't see the argument either.
