NATHAN'S FAMOUS HOT DOGS/ARTHUR TREACHER'S FISH-N-CHIPS. In Baton Rouge...

Emphasis on Nathan's of coarse, but the franchise fee on Treacher's is VERY low...or at least it was when I looked into this once upon a time.

Likely one of those salad places. I actually think a few are about to open in BR and New Orleans.

I've inquired to Sweet Tomatoes about BR for about ten years, and they would reply that they weren't ready for the La market as yet. But, by looking at their locations map..are they nearing such?

Nathans can be bought at Sams by the case, or in most stores, thus even though one of my favs, I feel we already have them in BR.

I'd prefer a Gray's Papaya or Papaya King, both supplied by Marathon, a division of Sabrett..if just for the their fruit drinks.

As for new franchise, in BR, Panera(on the way finally), Sweet Tomatoes, Jamba Juice, Rubio's, Baja Fresh, In-N-Out, Fatburger, Wahoo's, Roy's, Smashburger, Culver's or Ritter's Frozen Custard, Amy's Ice Cream, HEB Grocers, Taco Cabana, Bruster's Ice Cream,etc..

The NATHAN'S you buy at the grocery are not the same as the what you get AT a NATHAN'S. And wasn't the thread about what we would open...not many hot dog centric places around here...

Salad Creations in Mall of LA was my favorite place and they closed

By saying not the same Nathan's dogs, do you mean the meat recipe/formula, or the size and width dog?

Because they are available in varying sized dogs at certain grocers. BR has usually only one, but Sam's in Atlanta, Houston,etc..and Costcos(stock Hebrew National) have had some variety in the past.

I know some Nathan's, Hebrew National, Sabrett, etc..frank makers can customize recipe orders for individual businesses, by recipe and/or casing.

...

I think the recipe/formula IS different. for wone thing, when you get at DOG at a Nathan's they have that 'snap' when you bite them...like many of the good hot dog place dogs. The weiners they sale in groceries are skinless so no snap.

The method of preparation is different at the resturants. They are not boiled or microwaved. It's just better at the actual resturant than the grocery version. There is the whole "go out for a dog" thing. You CAN cook a hamburger at home, but you still go out for them. Same with hot dogs. Again, what kind of place would we open. I think a good hot dog place would be a good thing.

I can't always get to Chicago Al's.
