Yea really. If so, I'd throw in Carmine's.

What would be your recommendation for Metairie?

The best sushi in Metairie is Kanno one block from Dragos and Crazy Johnnies. I assume this guy already ate since it is 1030.

Have a buddy who swears by this place. The one time the wife and I tried to go it was closed because the owners were on vacation in Japan.

I have eaten at >20 sushi places in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans and it is my favorite. The only place I know people love that I never been is the one in the CBD. Marinated albacore tuna app, Godzilla roll, Elvis roll, and Very expensive roll are my recs.

Its a great sushi place...Elvis is great. He goes to Japan every year for almost a month sometimes.

Chateau du Lac and Vega Tapas are the best to places in (Old) Metairie....

Kanno

I actually proposed to my wife there. We ate there once a week for about a year. It is still the best sushi I have ever had.

Casa Garcia off of Veteran's by Chapelle HS has great Mexican food.

And I haven't been impressed with Shogun's sushi the past 2 times I've been. It tasted terrible , plus the waiters there expect you to order your food as soon as you sit down and rush you out of there after about 10 minutes. Sake Cafe and Wasabi (in Lakeview) both have way better sushi.

If you just want a burger and a beer, The Harbor on 17th street is pretty good. But dong go expecting white table cloths. Really dont expect much of anything, but a good burger.

Sid-Mar's reopened at that place just behind the car wash, between Barnes & Noble and Cleary Ave near the Chase Bank on the lake side of Veterans. That building has been at least three other restaurants that have failed.

Crazy Johnnie's, Phil's Grill, Drago's are all good calls. Taqueria Corona on Severn, Mr. Roo's on Severn for poor boys, Ragusa's on Severn.

On the other side of Causeway is Bozo's for seafood, Andrea's for fine Italian dining, Sports Beat for amazing burgers, Acme. All are within a block of Causeway Blvd.

I agree; however, technically, Bucktown is in Metairie. But, it's not "Metairie."
