Really strange on several fronts..

1. Leaves a lot of potential merchandising money on the table
2. Counterfeiters would take a while to replicate new gear
3. Pumps up players
4. Odd b/c in 2002 we were one of the first teams to wear both alternates and throwbacks. Now whwn everybody else is doing it we don't.

Would love to hear a Saints marketing person explain why they're choosing to skip out on this gravytrain.

The Saints had gold numbers their first couple of years, otherwise they haven't had any fundamental uniform changes in their history.

Unless you count the state of Louisiana logo on the pants from the mid-90s.

Totally. The Lions and Bills are totally different teams in the throwbacks.

Stupid.

Good teams find ways to win, bad teams find ways to lose. Maybe if Fitzpatrick would shave coupled with the throwback they could pit it all together...doubt it though.

I take it you haven't been to a Saint's game lately.

I'd say it's almost a majority of fans (at least where I am) that wear jerseys wear throwback brees and bush jerseys.

They make throwbacks for sale and they sell a shitload of em.

No way - there are hardly any people wearing throwback jerseys at games.

Far more fans wear chinese imports than replica throwbacks.

i've seen the effect too, but it's likely because if you're gonna wear the alternates it's a big game anyway and you're a good team

teams like the ravens when they wore black, the lakers when they first wore white on sundays... people watch them and think that's where the effect comes from, not the sad sack bills

There were photos posted on here recently of pseudo alt/throwback unis where the helmet was black and had a gold line and gold fleur-de-lis.

That would be a cool concept!

I would love to hear a Saints marketing person to ask you what organization you work for, what your specialty is, and why you feel as though your seeing something they don't. And then I would love to hear the same person to kindly ask you to GTFO

I would take the 06 patch with the current uniforms over throwbacks anyday, but I like that we dont wear throwbacks..

Living in the present is okay...

WTF? What's up with the hostility? The fricking hornets talk forum has a 3 page thread about the Hornets' 5th alternate uniform. Stop trying to act like nobody likes them or it's not worth talking about.
