Computer Rankings if Cam is ineligible?

I have been wondering with all the speculation over Auburn and Cam being declared ineligible, what happens to our computer ranking if Auburn some how has to forfeit their games this season.
Would our computer ranking and SOS take a nose dive because of a suddenly 0-12 Auburn? Or, would there be something to offset this problem?
Just something I have been curious about the last few weeks with all the Camgate stuff going around.

Pretty sure they would adjust the computers so that all the teams that have played Auburn do not get penalized. It's been speculated about on here.
Either way, if Auburn forfeits their wins, we'll be undefeated and STILL likely have a SOS better than the three other teams ahead of us.

Doesn't happen. If anything their wins would be vacated so if they go 12-0 and then Cam is ruled ineligible their record would be 0-0.

depends on what you mean by "new."
Miles has been on the political trail lately with his 1-loss SEC Champion tirade.... and it has been largely speculated that Arkansas, LSU, and Alabama have all been notified that they are playing for an SEC Title berth this weekend.
Other than that, no, nothing new has been reported.

It has already happened this year. If he is declared ineligible during the season Auburn will forfeit their games, not vacate the games.
Towson State has already had a forfeit for using an ineligible player.

I wouldn't be sure. That leaves losses on the resumes of everyone they beat. If Auburn is out of the picture, LSU is very much in the thick of the BCS title picture.
It would certainly be vacated if the ruling was after the season, but if it's before postseason play, then it's 50/50.

I didn't mean anything new was being reported. I meant over the last few weeks I have been wondering that.
Also, I was under the impression if it took place during the season it was a forfeit.

I can't be sure, but the only logical way to handle this would be the following:
The computers are run with the current records: Auburn undefeated, LSU one loss, etc. to get the relevant rankings. Then at the end, Auburn would likely be deleted altogether from the rankings.
Nothing else would really make sense.

I don't think all of the computer polls would work if they did this.

That seems like the most logical way to handle it, by removing Auburn from the records. But, would LSU be considered 11-0 by the computers?
I am not really sold that anything is actually going to happen to Barn, but just curious as to how it would play out in the computer world.

No, not unless the NCAA came out and said "Auburn forfeited, LSU won". If Auburn were to vacate, the computers would likely run assuming AU is 13-0 and LSU is 11-1 (or whatever their final records were)

Actually, thats perfect because the SEC championship game is the 12 game.

If that happened, where do you think we would be ranked on Sunday if we beat Arkansas?

We would be the highest in the computers, and 4th in the polls, so 3rd at the worse, depending on the percentage of votes.

Ok next question.... When is the season "over"?
If Newton is found ineligible after Friday is the "season" already over or does the SECCG count as part of the season?

This is really unprecedented and problematic. The single biggest impact on rankings in these models is a loss. I don't think a team that played AU should bare the full cost of that. I also don't think that we should bet the full benefit of beating a team like AU if they do forfeit. I believe the best approach would be just to eliminate all the AU games. In other words we would just have an 11 game schedule without AU. This should our coumputer rankings but not by giving us credit for something we didn't do.

Yeah that's how I think it should go. Auburn season is just wiped away like it never happened. If we beat Arky, we go 11-0 and play in SECCG with chance to go 12-0. And that would put us in the BCSNCG.
