I was given 4 tickets on the 45 lower bowl west side and I promise our group will not show up until mid 1st quarter and most likely leave at the start of the 4th. Too many tailgate parties before the game and we want to get a good table at Walkon's.

Always remember-

THERE WILL BE TONS OF BIG-TIME RECRUITS VISITING LSU FOR THIS GAME.

YOU WANT THEM TO BE EXCITED ABOUT TIGER STADIUM.

I left the Auburn game early a couple of years ago b/c people were complaining about me standing for kickoff!!!! It was the freaking kickoff!! I shot everyone in the section the bird and have not been back. I rather enjoy just tailgating and then watching the game on the couch (when I am in town for games).

With all due respect, I hope the game gets decided in the first 7.5 minutes and in the 4th qtr just so you can kick yourself in the arse!

I'm more concerned about an offensive performance that is so inconsistent, inept, and just plain awful it will scare off recruits. At least you can explain to a recruit that every fanbase has their douchebag fans, LSU is no different.....but what you can't explain is a total offensive collapse with plenty of talented players.

Who's wasting time?

Chances are I've been sitting in Tiger Stadium since before you were born.

I was telling the OP that while I understand where he's coming from, it doesn't make anyone LESS of a fan for leaving early. My ticket. My rules.

Some may feel different, but I would feel like I wasted my time if I spent the majority of a day preparing for an event, only to miss the conclusion.

And the ole "I'm older than you, therefore I'm insinuating I'm a more avid fan than you" response, although impossible to argue, considering you probably are older than me, it really amounts to nothing but pretentiousness.

I agree with you though. Your ticket your rules. You spent the money, therefore you can do what you want with it. BUT, I feel it's kind of a slap in the face to not only the team, but to many fans who don't have the opportunity to be in the stadium.

And I'm not talking about people who leave when the game has been decided, or people who have long drives ahead, etc. This is to people who leave at halftime in a close game, and pretty much have no valid reason behind it, except they don't feel like being there.

I had season tickets for years. most of the new Lsu fans are pussy's because they leave before the end. No one is trying to tell u what to do,but if u don't like Lsu let your tickets go back because there is some one to take them :rimshot:

A perfect example of what it wrong with the fanbase. It's more of a social event than an actual game.

I hate when "fans" leave the game early.

the wife and I occassionally drive over from Florida for a game. We never leave till the clock hits 00:00. I remember one year watching ND whip us in Tiger Staduim in a cold rain. We stayed till the game ended and only about 10% of the fans stayed. We go to watch the ENTIRE game win or lose.

Sure you can explain it...refer those recruits to the Rant on TD.com!

You have your mind made up so much that you are not processing this intelligibly. If someone drives in from Dalas/Houston/other on Friday evening, tailgates all day Saturday and conditionally leaves the game in the midst of the 4th QTR (where they deem the game is 90+% decided) because they have a long drive home that they have to make, that is sensible, and many have had to do just that. If the game is close, then it becomes much less understandable. They might be tired and have a long drive in front of them, and others in the car who are depending on them to be safe when in hour 4-7 of the trip home in the middle of the night. Let them make the trade-off that is best for them and don't assume folks are leaving early to drive to Bluebonnet or Denham Springs.

They still can make their own trade as to the worth of driving in, tailgating all day, visiting friends, enjoying the band coming down the hill and the majority of the game....that is still a high value trip

Anybody who has ever made an away game trip without a hotel can understand your explination. Leaving early doesn't bother me becuase I understand what it's like trying to make it another 6-8 Hours back to BR from most other Stadiums with a car full of sleep deprived drunks.

I promise you if it is a good game, fans will not leave early.

The few times I have left early it is because we are playing bad and I can't stand listening to all of the trailer park trash sitting next to me bitching the whole game. Every fcking play I have to hear about how bad LSU is and what they would do different.

I agree completely. It's simply "cool" to go to the game, some people couldn't care less of what's going on on the field.
