Good assessment, IMO. Wait until the biggie SEC teams play LSU with their levels of defense

The next 3 teams we play actually have lower ranked defenses then the first 4 teams we played

Yes, I give CLM credit for good things.
Hiring Chavis to fix the Defense -> A+
Developing Special Teams -> A+
Recruiting in general -> A+

But...
Improving the offense -> D-
Making appropriate changes in staff (OC) -> D-
Developing skill positions -> D-
Utilizing talent appropriately -> D-

Agree, with most, I'd add though,
improving the O line - B
improving the running back - A
He's done good developing skill positions

His main problem is QB - F , WR - C, and OC - F

How Coach Miles talks kids into coming here is beyond me. Bless him for that. He seems to me like agenuinely decent man. He could have thrown Perrilloux to the curb, but he worked to correct an incorrigible. If Perrilloux had stayed, I feel certain he would have been drafted. He allowed him to go to another school and compete.

The co-def coordinators were given some diginity to go on to anothher school and remain as coaches, and he fixed that problem by hiring Chavis. For all the things, recruiting and player development, I believe all assistants have a hand in that, too.

If he fixes the offense, for whatever that means, he will look like a world-class coach. I really believe that his biggest obstacle to that is Nick Saban. I have noticed on this board that there is always an unspoken undercurrent that runs like this. "Well, you can bet Saban wouldn't have done that!" People on this rant look at Saban as a god who turned his back on us, but yet we idolize him to make it seem that he can do no wrong. And as Saban can do no wrong, it appears that Miles can do no right.

Don't think for one minute that I am not frustrated as we all are. I don't understand why he does some of the things he does, and that makes it hard to support some of his actions. Right now two-thirds of the team is clicking. To make that last part is the challenge, but i don't know if it will get fixed to my satisfaction any time soon..

yes seriously...anyone with any management experience knows that you can not have "2 heads" for any department or position...
he obviously did not..he created the problem

and BTW, all of the OTHER stuff that he won, etc, etc...do not dismiss this blunder
as much as those of you drinking the Kool Aid would like it to.

not everything Miles has done is bad..obviously,
but he has made some major mistakes and LSU has paid the price.

Oh, that's a relief. Then there's nothing to be concerned about. We'll just win ugly in every case, no sweat.

It is not his fault the kid turned out to be a knucklehead.

everyone knew RP was a piece of crap. he's a player who was obviously worthy of a backup plan

He got Zach Lee here. Not his fault the kid took the money and ran.

another super-risky recruit

we have JJ/JLee (who apparently both suck) and NO OTHER QUARTERBACKS. that's insanity

You're right. Sorry, it's contageous around these parts sometimes. You made a good point, I'm just concerned about Tenn and FL and how our offense has just been stone cold awful (except for Ridley mostly).

Maybe Miles believed the Malveto was up to the task and wanted to promote from within.

he did, and this was absolutely retarded

nothing about mallory or peveto made them seem like decent candidates for the fricking positions they held on the goddamn team, let alone promotions

His great strengths in the first couple of seasons revolved around him trusting his talent and taking big risks.

miles has never taken "big risks"

he's a conservative coach, and has been since he came to LSU
