Quick question for those who love tbob what has he done for you to make you applaud the decision by the coaches to play him? Average to sub average play? I hope the performance in next weeks games is better by him if he starts but I just don't see it happening. Godspeed to that young man!

watch the game again in slow motion. you will see that t-bob played a good game. he had as good a game as anyone on the o-line. certainly better than Hurst. and Williford just sucked it up on the three plays he was in.

also tbob got in trouble in the off season and doesn't even sit out a game. he was actually rewarded for getting in trouble with playing time

Yea because T-Bob didn't get DESTROYED in SEC play last year. Its not like he gained weight either. How many teams in the SEC have 280lb Guards?
I hate how everybody acts like they know for sure that a lack of size and strength are the reason that T-Bob had a rough year last year. We don't know that that's the reason. It may have had something to do with his technique or how quick he was or something else. Playing offensive line is not just about being a big guy. Brett Helms weighed around 270 which is not much different than T-Bob and he was an All-SEC offensive linemen. And Helms also played guard his first couple years at LSU before he moved to center after Niswanger graduated, so don't argue that Helms could not have done well at guard. IN 2005 he beat out Will Arnold, who was supposed to be an All-American type of player, and he started at guard until he was injured in the Tennessee game and was out for the rest of the year. So it'
s not true that just because T-Bob isn't huge he can't play guard. Players improve from year to year as they get more experience. He played a pretty good game against UNC.

and not even a good center at that, I wonder whats going to happen next game
I disagree. I think T-Bob has pretty good technique and he is a competitor... He is just a tad too small to play against SEC DL and dominate every week. I look for him to play well against Vandy!

Correct. However, when it is a player someone has an agenda against, as in T-Bob's case, or when the poster has an agenda for the back up, as in the Ridley/Ford case, they are CERTAIN as to why someone should/should not play.

Hebert has the heart but there is a reason Rudy's heart didn't get him to the NFL and he only played like 2 or 3 downs at ND
Posted on 9/9/10 at 1:43 am to BayAreaTigerFan
Williford is starting.

Yeah, his inability to be dominant is not for lack of trying. The dude busts his arse out there.

Thank you Dan that's all I wanted to know

He was ok in the game, certainly not horrible like last year. He will get devoured in the SEC though. Absolutely no way in hell they can keep him at G
Although Austin didn't play, that was still one of the best front 7's we will see all season. Their major losses were their DB's, a fact we generally refused (or are unable) to exploit.

My only concern with having T-Bob at guard is that leaves us very shy at center. If the center goes down, we have no experienced back up to come in and play
Les said almost exactly this during his radio program last night, and pointed out that Blackwell was their #3 center. So, all you T-Bob haters will apparently get your wish this week. FWIW, he did MUCH better than JW did for the few plays he came in for.

T Bob plays well give the kid a break. I am fine with him at guard. He will and has done a great job. He had a great game at Bama last year, and played hurt against OleMiss and Arky. Go T BOB!

T-Bob will never play pro football that but his guard play although weak is probably better than his center play was last year. I had to work during the game and after reading all the post about how crappy he was and how his holding call negated a drive for a touchdown I was ready to crucify Miles.
Now after having watched the game I realize T-Bob isn't all that good and hopefully we have better but I saw his holding call was BS and he made some good blocks and missed others just like Hurst.

Always the fall back position, aye?
No offense to you but this is the mindset of the Tiger fanbase.
normally sure handed RB fumbles, fire the coach!
OL plays great (improves dramatically over last year) but starter gets hurt, fire the coach!
PP has epic return game, fire the coach!
13 Freshmen play, fire the coach!
JJ has great game but makes two mistakes, fire the coach!
RS 'only' scores twice, fire the coach!
Honestly, it is LSU fans who SUCK, fire us!

What kills me is that some of you know-nothings call for players to play having never watched a practice. Also, there is someone called Moffit who helps players get stronger as is the case with T-Bob who is developing. He played well last week-end,and obviously the coaches think he was the best choice for OG.

I am far from a Miles basher. I recognize his faults but I am far from a Negatiger.
Think about it TBob seems to be get preferential treatment. Something I hate. Starting right guard goes down and the move TBob ahead of the 2nd string right guard??? Doesn't sound right, does it?
I watched the game and as I said in my post the rant was full of shite.

Unless the coaches know more about their players than you do...?
Upon review of the game we can all see they did.
TBob played a great game and appears to be (OMG) 'developing' but JW on the other hand, played like suck so it seams they (the hated coaching staff) knew he wasn't ready...

As usual!
And again, my original response was no offense to you, it was just to illustrate the point that so many in our fan base answer ever dad gum challenge/question/problem with ‘fire the coach’ and it is frankly retarded.
At least you had the wisdom to actually (re)watch the game and decide for yourself.

Wiliford was in for a series, end of the Q3 and start of Q4 I think. He did have a lineman blow past him on a Ridley run where he never had a chance.
Williford just stood there while Coples ran past him on third down and hit Ridley in the backfield.
