LSU makes it to Atlanta this year.

I've been one of the bigger negatigers on this board, but things are starting to set up right for LSU.
All we need is for that O-Line to gel together and we will push for Atlanta and maybe for the MNC.

I say this because I think we will recommit to the run, the defense should be quick and nasty (also causing lots of turnovers), and the offense will hit repeated big plays against the D.

I know everyone's picking Bama to win the west, they are good, but if we can run consistently run the ball - we win by 10. We should have won two years ago...the ints broke the game. Last year, we were winning late in the 3rd...piss poor o-line play and horrendous offensive play calling killed our chances. In my humble opinion, we should have won the games, two years ago by 14 and last year by 3.
Auburn...please, Cameron Newton is NOT the savior.
Arkansas, will be tough but I like our chances.

I'm no fan of Miles as an X's and O's guy, but he doesn't need to be one. He just has to manage the game, especially his O-coordinator. Chavis will be fine, that guy proved he can do it year in and year out.

The simple fact is we have more than enough talent to beat ANY team in college football by 21 points. I thought the D made a major turn around last year, it will continue.
I like Jordan Jefferson at QB. The guy has a lot of talent and a lot of heart, he was hung out to dry last year with no rushing attack and terrible play calling. If we mix it up right and get the ball to the receivers in space...watch out.

This could be a special year...it's up to the coaches to make the right calls (something we've been lacking the past few years). Don't be surprised if they do and LSU knocks some heads.

Yeah

I think that a lot of people really are dismissing LSU this year and that has to be the biggest mistake i've ever come across. You don't count LSU out, first of all, because we're LSU, and have all the talent in the world.

I think that this year, folks will be VERY surprised at how good the tigers will play. They'll be solid on all facets of play, or at least solid enough to get the win. The qb play will be so much improved i think it will make everyone forget about the blunders that were 08 and 09..

Mark my words...We will lose, at the MOST..2 Games

Who has more talent?

Florida - push...
Alabama - LSU has more pure talent right now...that's changing quickly though
Southern Cal -talented but a lot of that has left
Ohio State - nope - at the o-line position sure but that's it
UGA - LSU has more from top to bottom

We would have to catch these teams at the right moment but we could whip 'em.

Miles is good at pulling in talent...developing that talent, keeping it here, and putting it to use of the field...not so much.

Yeah, let's not get too crazy with the "21 points" thing, but this is the hardest team to gauge in some time. I'm a glass is half full kinda guy, so I tend to agree with your assessment. However, if we don't get good OL and QB play, the season could just as easily play out the way that the media predicted.

My gut feeling is that they have a great season, beat Bama in TS, but lose the game at Arkansas.

I really don't understand why people think we're going to be so much worse than last year. By the looks of the team and Les' attitude lately, I'd say we have a really good chance at a great season this year.

Many of the teams on the schedule will be overlooking LSU this year. Last time I felt that happened was 2001.

We'll catch many SEC foes with their pants down this season, mark my words.

In calling Florida a push, you negate your original statement.

Nahh, we have the talent to beat any team by 21 points, you could be less talented and still beat a team by 21.

To beat a team with top talent all over the board by 21 points, you have to have to have a substantial amount of talent on your team. I feel that we have as much, thus we have the ability to beat them by 21.

Doesn't necessarily negate the original statement because you don't have to be more talented to beat them by 21 points.

Copout.

I'd say Texas is more talented than LSU. Florida isn't really a push.

I forgot about Texas...I think they have a bit more natural talent than LSU.
However, most of it is very young talent...I still stand by the statement that we could beat them by 21.

The same goes for Florida (as far as being young), we'll have a tough time this year because it's in the swamp, but possible.

i agree. there is the potential to do great things this year but there is also a lot of uncertainty on both sides of the ball. i dont think the average fan really has any idea what to expect from this team.
i think that losing the bowl game and looking sloppy in the spring game has a lot of people freaked out.

If they didn't show up maybe. This offense has trouble even scoring 21 points.
