And, yes, for the record, I don't have much respect for his coaching abilities, either.

Switzer had some personality issues.

Larry Coker. Sparky Anderson never received his due coaching the Reds during the 70's.

1. Coker
2. Coker
3. Coker
4. Laval
5. Coker
60 wins in 6 years for Coker, but there's ABSOLUTELY no similarities between he and Miles.

Coker wasn't even 70% once Miami joined the ACC.
Fulmer wasn't 80%.
Fulmer wasn't 80%.

True, but he completed his tenure at Miami 60-15 which is exactly 80%.
Someone should check my math.

There are none between Miles and Saban either.
Saban 48-16 2 SECC, 1 BCSNC, 3-2 Bowls
Miles 51-15 1 SECC, ! BCSNC, 4-1 Bowls
Saban 30 victories and 7 losses (14 points or greater)
Miles 29 victories and 4 losses (14 points or greater)
That Miles guy just sucks.

My point was that it might have also been a lot harder to compete in a much better conference. While in the Big East they were really the only team in the southeast. Once they moved to the ACC they had to compete with not only VT, but most of the conference were down south.

Doesn't mean a hill of beans. You used to say Saban wasn't good at X's and O's and strategy.
Your opinion on Les Miles, or any coach for that matter, means shite.

you don't have to be a statistical genius to realize Saban is a much better coach than Miles. You just need common sense, pal. But since every Milestown kool-aid drinker is absolutely insistant on comparing records (especially when the name "Saban" is mentioned), Coker's name needs to be brought up. why do Miles lovers quickly compare wins and losses when comparing Saban and Miles, but absolutely positively refuse to do so with Coker and Miles???

When you look at when Miami declined under Coker what obviously sticks out?

NEWS FLASH!!!
No one cares who you respect and who you don't.
Grow a pair and go out to LSU and tell Miles you don't respect his coaching abilities. After you do that, come back and talk to us.

First off, I am not a Milestowner or kool aid drinker. My point was to illustrate the folly in comparing Miles to Coker. If you want to do that, it begs other comparisons. Neither is a good comparison because the situations are totally different.
I support Miles, because for better or worse, he is currently the head Football Coach at LSU. Bitching and moaning and crying in April does exactly what to benefit the LSU football program? Is he going anywhere before the season? NO Does bitching now mean he is less likely to be back in 2011? NO
Since maybe one in ten football coaches isn't fired at some point, I guess the anti-Miles crowd has a 90% chance of being right.

i'll say discipline. but i won't dismiss the fact he was hiding behind a shitload of talent when he took over to mask his actual coaching abilities....like Miles.

The main difference between Coker and Miles is summed up in one word. RECRUITUNG Miami fell off the map in recruiting under Coker and it still shows up now.
