I think he'll end up at LSU, but the reason why he may not be all LSU is prob because of Newman. Newman is prob telling him to look elsewhere, not necessarily coach Nelson, but the faculty and his college adviser

WOW so does the high school have a problem with LSU? Thats wierd to hear of counselors and teachers swaying a kid to go out of state.

Will probably commit to LSU but don't count out UT. His mom works there. Possible raise material?

Newman is just on the far left and love to send their kids to the best schools and they don't really see LSU as one of the best school.

Makes sense. BUt they should also look at his career path. Scholerships kids want to recieve a good education but they also want the best preparation and opportunity to take there career beyond college.

I thought the thoughts of some on the board were that he was to soft to play at LSU, and should stick with Bball

God this is a stupid statement. How is a high school on the far left for wanting their kids to go to the best schools? And why didn't Newman steer Ronnie Vinson anywhere else last year?

How good is he? Rivals list his only other offers as Tulsa and Tulane. I'm assuming he will be a WR. Who does he compare to?

Thanks for the info.

I did smartass. If you have a good football player where do you want him to go, Harvard or LSU?

Right, I am sure Newman looks at everything in context. They aren't going to recommend a 4 star football player to go to a northern liberal arts school like Swarthmore.

i think whats being overlooked is the fact that his mom (heather van norman) was an All American track star at LSU. the whole reason the kid went to newman was bc his mom was coaching at tulane at the time. i didnt really think his dad was in the picture

Exactly. Livingston, Vinson and Beckham are the highest profile recruits in Newman history not named Manning. Beckham will end up at LSU, so three out of five. Yeah, Newman steers athletes away from LSU. Also, Wes Luquette the baseball player. Typical anti-elitism from a jealous and envious loser.

absurd that people would think Newman teachers would steer them away from LSU, I played with Odell, Ronnie and Wes Luquette in football and trust me most of the kids there are LSU fans and I know a lot of the parents are. And the college advisers are not telling them don't go to LSU, they are like they should be telling them they could go to a great school for free but if they weren't telling them that then they are awful counselors.

The statement about Newman swaying him away from LSU is completely off base.. Why does there have to be a reason what if the kid just wants to look around? And he is gonna do just that but he most likely will end up at LSU.
