I like the move but I am worried that PT is hurt worse than we know.
I think that if it's 3nd or 4th and 1 Duce can get that 1 yard if he is in shape.
Do yawl think that at some point in the season the Saints contacted Duce and told him to get ready we may need you in the playoffs?

So, what's the verdict? Playing or cheerleader?
Hell, he's only 31...I hope he can contribute on the field. Damn sure the Cardinals didn't game plan for that.

Peyton and Loomis called this one right
how do you know??
seriously, 1 day before the playoff game??
Theres some question if Deuce still has it or not, but do you really want to find out 1 day before a playoff game??
shite we've been off for 2 weeks, and we knew we were going to mail it in vs Carolina. Why not sign him then and at least let him see some snaps or practice for the last 2 weeks.
Its the timing, if anything. It wreaks of desperation. Its nothing to do with hating on Deuce

for all of you that think this is a bad move you need not be a Saints Fan...we are talking about the Saints all time leading rusher and beloved Saint player dressing out for our most important season to date. He hasn't played all year so he has fresh legs and he spent 3 years in this system which he knows. Who cares if he takes a spot from Hamilton which he obviously will not. Hamilton was lucky enough to even make the roster this season and we know the body of work Deuce has produce for the Saints...
This is a genius move by the our front office and it will be something that will give other free agents to think about when the Saints is an option for them....
Deuce get Loose and !!!!

It's a gimmick to pump up the very important 12th man. You wouldn't want to announce something like this weeks in advance even if that's when the marketing department came up with it. Just look at how it's energized the Saints Talk today. Hell, there have even been multiple threads started on the OT about it.

In the reports Duece had said he has been working out "with the guys" for a while now.
I'm sure some people who make decisions saw that he was in good enough shape to play.
Look at McKenzie. He sat out the whole year and them came on the team to make some big plays.
I still think we can used duece as a pass protection fullback.
If we would have had one earlier we might be undefeated right now. I have no doubt that if we had better pass protection against Dallas we would have won.

The Saints announced Friday afternoon that they had re-signed McAllister, the franchise's record-holder for all things rushing. New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Friday that the club has re-signed veteran running back Deuce McAllister and placed defensive tackle Jermon Bushrod/Rodney Leisle.aspx">Rodney Leisle on injured reserve with a knee injury.
McAllister, the first-round draft choice of the Saints in 2001, played in 97 regular season games for the Saints from 2001-08 and is the franchise’s record-holder for touchdowns scored with 55, rushing yards with 6,096, rushing attempts (1,429), rushing touchdowns with 49 and ranks eighth in receptions with 234. His 27 career 100-yard rushing games are the most in team history and he is the only Saints runner to gain 1,000 yards in a season four times, including two Pro Bowl seasons in 2002 and 2003. He was released last February after being slowed by injuries the previous two seasons.
“Deuce is a huge part of the history of our club and what has gotten this team to where we are today and we absolutely wanted him with us as we head into the playoffs,” Loomis said.
“Deuce McAllister has always embodied the spirit of the New Orleans Saints and the city of New Orleans,” said Saints Head Coach Sean Payton. “We’re excited to have him back with the team and to have him lead us out on to the field tomorrow.”
McAllister started both playoff games for the Saints in the 2006 season, running for 161 yards in the two contests and scoring touchdowns rushing and receiving in the Divisional round victory over Philadelphia.
“I’m speechless,” said McAllister of re-joining the team. “I don’t know that there are words to describe this feeling. I do know that we have some unfinished business that we started a few years ago and we want to finish the deal.”
Leisle was signed late in December and played in the regular season finale at Carolina.

How do you know? Peyton and Loomis ain't 13-3 for nothing! Could of had him in the works since the injuries started months ago with the running backs. Yeah he has been out for awhile but sometimes a fresh horse can beat the better horse. Ever watch the Triple Crown? I do respect your opinions, they are valid. But what a rush!

He's not going to be active. It's a lot different.
I thought he was going to be active for the game, which would have been stupid
