How is this guy only rated as a 3*? He is one of the best high school players I have seen play this year.

Because Bama isnt hot on him. If they were he would be a 6 star

I watched him play in the state championship game....sucked balls. He was slow, couldn't throw. He was pulled and a soph was put in. He just looked bad against a subpar talented hoover team. I was disappointed because of all the hype around him.

yea a 4.4 is slow, didn't know 3 stars carried a lot of hype.

i'm just telling you what i saw. hoover is just a bunch of slow rich white dudes. from that game, he's about troy kind of talent.

I watched Lache play in the game on ESPNU this year, he looked absolutely terrible. Arm tackled, caught from behind, no vision. Did not even look like the best athlete on the field. And he's a 5*. Doesn't mean the kid can't play, I just went into the game looking for superman.

This guy agrees about the talent at Troy:

i see what you're saying but Lache was playing against a loaded AA D. Gibson was playing against a slow hoover team. i'm suprised he's getting love from lsu. i know you guy's are going to take up for lsu recruits but do you find it strange that AU/uat never really went hard for the guy?

Yes I do, but after Marsh and Ware, I'll trust the staff over an Auburn fan, just sayin...

that's fair, but we need defensive help more than any one and we backed off the kid. i'm not flaming, he's just not a 4/5* recruit and that's what the OP was asking.

He's not going to play qb here so his throwing is meaningless. He's a good athlete that the coaches saw in person at different positions in camp. For a bunch of slow white kids Hoover sure has dominated that state lately.I guess all the kids in Bama are slow and overrated.

fist off, prattville is the power in AL's 6A class and if you read my last post......i didn't say he was playing QB.

Why did you make a comment about his throwing then?Serious question, did Hoover move up classifications?I know that they won numerous state titles in the Probst era.Not all kids recruited in Alabama play at the 6a level. So some of the kids recruited by Bama and Auburn were beaten by Hoover.Bama has a Hoover player in Kerry Murphy. Not flaming you just stating facts.

I made the comment about his throwing because he played QB and as an ATH, I was expecting to see a rounded ball player. Hoover didn't move up, they've just not been as good because of Probst leaving and Prattville just has better ATH's. And your point about Hoover beating kids recruited by Au and uat, they have 4000 kids that go to that high school. They've got crazy depth. They just don't have the talent Prattville has. And this past year.....Prattville lost the game, Hoover didn't win.

I think Gibson has a lot of intangible skills that will serve him well as a safety. I always love picking up ATH QB's, because they typically understand the game better than any other position in HS.

This is not the game he was referring to. The game on ESPN was a Texas high school game. The AA game was on NBC.
I respect all your points here, but in no way does LSU need AU/UA to offer our recruits in order to somehow validate their potential.

Yea, Lache looked real bad in that game. My thoughts after watching that game was how is everybody in the world after him. He sure didn't look like a world beater that night. If high school kids were knocking him off his feet, SEC linebackers are going to kill him.
