You know, just sprint 8 yards around the tackle and past the QB?

For frick's sake I hope not. Alem was easily the most disappointing player this year.

Our DE's have been bad for several years. Easily reach-blocked on running plays, or just driven way upfield on pass plays.

8 yards and a cloud of QB dust.

Don't forget standing straight up at the snap and then sprinting 8 yards up field.

Well then...this is constructive.

I don't know if it's constructive, but it's definitely true. It worked when he was a situational pass rusher because it at least there was some sort of push from the middle of the line. When there was no such push, he either wasn't coached to correct his technique or he just didn't listen.

Hmmm. Interesting. I think we can all agree that Alem was a one trick pony and his trick was taken away in pretty much every game.
Pep wansn't anything special.
Tyson Jackson had a heck of a career, but besides his first year he never seemed to actually produce as big as his reputation was. I know he was a high draft pick, but does anyone think he was that fantastic here? Especially without Dorsey.
Chase Pittman was ok.
Kirston Pittman was here for six years, but always seemed to come up big in situations. He was very solid.
Melvin Oliver was ok.
RJF was good his first year before he was moved to DT.
Kenderick Allen was ok for spot duty.
I guess Marcus Spears and Marquise Hill were our last real dominant DEs.
Jarvis Green was a Beast!

I think it was the latter in his case.

Of course. I mean that's the way I've been coaching him... Is this incorrect?
