ever make a roux in the microwave?

my mom does, in a corningware dish. i always thought it was weird, i've never tried it.

Did it once. Have to watch it close so it does not burn. Mine was just ok.

used to do it often.
Have to use a pyrex bowl.
good for a light colored roux, don't try to get it to dark

A roux is a simple and basic step to cooking...no short cuts...enjoy cooking and the food will show it...If you don't have the time to cook...eat out or pull the leftovers out of the freezer.

I do it all the time. you have to watch it good after 5 minutes or it will burn quickly.

Try it, its easy and it comes out exactly the same. Its the only way I do my roux now.

I've never cooked my roux's in the microwave...but my Dad (RIP) used to do it this way all the time.
