5 are true freshmen
6 are red shirt freshmen
4 are sophmores
1 is a junior
2 are seniors

What does this tell us about our OL? Anything?

But Miles says it's the best OL since he's been here. Wasn't that right??

Miles forgot to recruit offensive lineman for a couple of years?

No, he didn't forget, they just didn't stick around for whatever reason.

We've taken 4-6 offensive linemen per recruiting class every year except 2005...

2004 -- 4
2005 -- 1
2006 -- 6
2007 -- 4
2008 -- 6
2009 -- 4

Most were kicked off the team along with Ryan P.

The fans who supported Miles decision to kick players off the team should be patient while the younger talent matures.

Our OL is fricking small, and besides Black, I think everyones job SHOULD be up for grabs. We cant fricking block a 3 man rush...

Too much attrition. I'll say it once again, Jones would be starting at guard and McCoy would playing. Both played as true freshman but Miles has his reasons for kicking them off the team.

what makes me mad is that if you win the starting job in camp, then that is it & there is no way you can lose your job. No more competition for playing time. It is also possible that some players have been misevaluated. Josh D at LG is not working too well. He is a gifted athlete, but 6'6" 281 is thin & he just appears to not look/play strong. He is light on his feet & can move, but can't root an interior lineman out. He would seem to be more suited for RT. Barksdale is very strong (didn't he break the team squat record?) and seems to be better suited at LG next to CB and push some fools around. Maybe not now, but why can't the coaches see this earlier in camp. Really, I could see 68 doing better at RT than LG and 78 doing better at LG than RT. Response?

So next year we will hear our OL is very young and havent played enough together to be a cohesive unit. Same with the running backs. Wont have one player with any carries.

THIS was my biggest concern for the season and why my expectations have not been high. I said it over and over to anyone who asked me about what I thought would happen this year. I saw it on the Spring Game roster and knew we were in trouble. I only counted 11 on the roster at the Spring Game(true FR not reporting yet, of course, and maybe a few walk-ons added).

Amazingly we have stayed relatively healthy. However, getting down to Hurst (true FR) in the UGA game ended up working out just fine.

Dworacyck has the size for a good blocking tight end, but he is too small to block straight ahead in the middle of the line. I still don't understand why we don't run more misdirection, counters and screens. That seems to be what this line is built for.
