what's the scoring defense ranked? that's more important than total defense.

He OBVIOUSLy played that way against Tennessee because there offense couldn't move the ball.

He did the exact same thing, played very conservative against us for the same reason.

LOL You really think CUM (the king of blowing people out) played conservative? Holly shite some of you people are just too stupid to even argue with.

Does anyone ever consider that Myer "held back" out of respect for the competition?

Post game with Chris Fowler, Myer let out a gasp in relief for having won.

This team scored 51 on us last year under different DC leadership. Tebow carried what? 16-17 times last night?

The moved but couldn't score like they should have. The defense did that. Not Myer holding back.

Don't buy it at all. Just like I never bought that Miles was holding back for Florida. I guarantee you if he thought a different game plan would have given him 30 points he would have used it.

Bottomline, IMHO, Tiger D got the job done and UF got all the points they were going to get on us last night.

I know the gator fans are going to rub this in our face. I guess we can't help the fact that our starting Senior quarterback was kicked off the team. Believe it or not, Meyer would have been scared shitless if somehow Ryan Perrilloux would have been the quarterback last night. There is probably no team in the SEC that could defend his option presence. So, this is the last year for Tim Tebow so you better enjoy it because now you will have to go through growing pains like we have been doing.

So it's ok to allow 200 yds rushing in a game?

No, but it's not as bad to allow 200 yds to the #1 rushing attack in the country as it is to allow 200 yds to someone like, say, Tennessee.

Who cares about yards? Points is what matters, especially against a team like Florida.

I think most people would not believe that we would have held them to 13 points...and then lose...

That's fair. I think 200 yds suggests you have some improvements to make on the run D no matter the opponent.

I agree DeathValley! Our defense has nothing to be ashamed of. We played lights out last night. If anything, Florida should be ashamed beause they had every opportunity to score on us as much as they can because not only did our defense keep their drives alive with penalites, but they also had help from the referees. Florida, you had help from the referrees all night long, yet you only scored 13 points? Great job defense!

he OBVIOUSLY played it that way.

Then tell me why Meyer decided to punt with 4th and INCHES from the LSU 39 with 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter of a 10-3 game??

I'm so stupid, but you cant explain to me how that is NOT a conservative Meyer there.

Why don't you read the entire post before posting? I'll tell you why. Because for one, Tebow was stopped on 4th and 2 when they were in field goal range. My second point is that Tebow was stopped on 2nd and 3rd down and inches. Why would you go for it on 4th down. Finally, do you consider trying to throw the ball into the endzone in an attempt to run up the score and attempt to put the game away, only to have it intercepted by an LSU player conservative? I think not and I rest my case!

Is the play calling for UF ever not vanilla?

I feel like I know the read option better than TT does at this point.

We're going to hold this team to low points as well. Bama doesn't have the Tebow presence or the athletes that Florida has. In fact, the quarterback is mediocre at best. Sure they looked good early on playing againt those Division 1A teams, but they were still held in check by Ole Miss defense. If anything, we are very similar to Bama. Don't put too much faith in Bama because they aren't going to do much against this LSU defense when we play them. Then what excuse will you have for them? Oh yeah, that's right, Bama played the game using a vanilla, conservative game plan.

It was 4th and 1 and it was at the 39 yard line, no clue what you're talking about dude. So get the facts straight before you start spouting off, lol.

Sorry, a 56 yard Fg on 4th and 1 isn't even remotely an option.

Your case is terrible, quite simply. Plain and simple that was a conservative play call. Period, end of sentence. To argue otherwise is just silly.

I totally agree, I was disappointed in the score of course. But, we were playing the #1 team in the nation, with superman at quarterback. This guy is phenominal. With a few breaks we could have surprised a few people. I'm broud to be a tiger fan.

You say this because you have nothing else better to come up with. Tebow was stopped on 4th and 2, period. Turn over on downs. Then, he was stopped both times on the other possession as well. They punted. Tebow tries to conservatively throw the ball into the endzone to run the score up and put the game out of reach. Conservative game plan backfires because Jai Eugene intercepts the ball conservatively. Get real dude, why don't you just give the defense some credit, if not go cheer for the Florida Gators. After all you plead your case and side with them.

LOL. You're not even arguing the right play.

Hilarious.

Learn what plays we're talking about then get back to me. I gave the exact down and distance, the quarter, the score, everything, and you still reference a play from the 1st quarter.

could hold Florida to 13 points?

so this is the coolaid drinkers talking points today. Did those other teams face a florida team that was playing close to the vest with a banged up qb. Meyer didn't do anything fancy and didn't want to put tebow in bad situations. they played a conservative game and it was good enough for them to win.
