It wouldn't take much to set up a sting to catch this guy. Just have someone pose as wanting tickets then have the cops ready at the Western Union station he goes to to get the money.

Correct. However, they can still be charged with crimes in EBR if the feds aren't interested...at least that's how I interpreted it from Danos' class 3 years ago...

OK, update on the scammer

"Josh Blair" called again trying to sell me his tix in sec 103 for $100 each, but unfortunately he can't do local pick-up... why? Beacuse he's in Miami! So now he suggested Fed-Ex cod, but I need to supply Fed Ex with a receipt of money I transferred to him at my local grocery store.

Long story short: I didn't accept his offer and told him to go !@#$% himself.

Same dude just sent me an email:

This sounds like the guy - the guy I spoke to said he relocated to Miami, former LSU grad and his dad, just deceased, was a professor in Architecture at LSU. Basically the process he described was that to go to grocery store with western union/ in this case went to minute money in Miami and that money would not be released until the FedEx guy showed me the envelope with the tickets, an authenticated letter from LSU and a parking pass and once I reviewed that I would sign a release form that he had to release the money. What happended is the money was released immediately when did the minute money transaction, he gave us fake fedex tracking number as well.

Exact same story I got. Did he also tell you his wife was expecting at any moment? What a scum bag.

This is exactly what a guy did to me this week for Alabama tix after I posted on here ... sent me an email from

i have sec gg row 29 i have 6 tickets together,i am not a ticket broker,i am a season ticket holder, please email your home and cell number with area code to go over details

Although I thought it was odd he wouldn't leave his phone number in his initial email, I still replied with my cell number to get in contact with me (obviously before ever seeing this thread). The next morning, I got a call from a "BLOCKED" number. I didn't answer, but he left a message (but didn't leave his call-back number, just said he was calling about the Bama tix and would try me later in the morning). The next time later that morning I got a call from "BLOCKED" and i answered, assuming correctly that it would be him. Sure enough, it was him ... said he was a season ticket holder, had recently been relocated to Miami, his father usually uses the tickets but had recently passed away. He was pushing to get my to buy all 6, but I told him I needed to get with my buddies to see if they gave me the go-ahead to buy the tix. He asked how quickly I could find out, and I told him it could take a few hours. He didn't give me his number or anything, just said he would call back later that afternoon.

I found the whole process akward, strange and simply "something was not right" in my mind. I've bought tickets numerous times from strangers, but this whole situation, from the very first email to the blocked number to his personality on the phone, to his accent, just seemed fishy. I knew as soon as I hung up the phone that I would not be buying from him and I wouldn't be taking his call later that afternoon. Had I known about this thread prior, I would have given him a piece of my mind as well.

I am 100% confident this is the guy others have mentioned in this thread ... and like others have said, HE IS STILL LURKING ON HERE, SO WATCH OUT!

FWIW, he has a New York/New Jersey accent and calls from a "bLocked/private" number.

this is probably how this guy makes a living. Week in and week out trying to make money off of the big games that week. What an a-hole.

You need to file a report HERE.

If you still have the email he sent you include the entire URL of the email in the report. Cyber crimes investigators can take that jiberish looking URL & track his IP address, computer name & location. The more people that report this douche, the better the chances of him getting busted.

these type of people make me sick. Even when I buy tickets right before the game, I make them walk to the gate with me to make sure it isnt a fake.

I did this prior to the dallas game. bought tickets on Poydras/Lasalle. before I asked, he was willing to walk to the gate. bought two tickets in sec 323 row 5 for 150 a piece 20 mins before kickoff. the guy was from baton rouge. Even for the biggest games, there is always tickets available before the game. I heard no lie that thousands bought fake tickets. sad.

Wow, amazing this guy is still out there. He got a buddy of mine in 2004 for the Oregon State game with the same exact bullshite.

Filed all the stuff, FBI, everything. Nothing came of it at all.

Fwiw, he used the name Josh Scott. This guy needs to be murdered.
