damn. bucs aren't wasting anytime this offseason

this is why the pats are best franchise in football. take an UFA, develop him, then trade him for a first and second rounder

cassel doesn't really scare me too much as a Saints fan

x2...i feel the same way about everything you said. the pats didn't really want cassell, but they wanted the first round pick that they knew some over anxious team would give up for him. i'm glad it's the bucs.

They must feel pretty good about Brady's knee, I would think. Not sure who else they have, or who they would bring in.

the pats arent suckers. if they let cassell go, there's a good reason behind it. this move doesn't scare me right now either.

The way their tossing money around it makes me wonder what are they willing to offer Vilma. My bad: I see the Saints may have inked Vilma.

According to a similar thread on SR.com, this is bullshite. Apparently a rumor started on a Bucs website

this would be a win win for the Saints. The success of Brady & Cassel has to be the Pat's system. Both of them did nothing before New England, and the Buc's would give up some high picks for him. I smell a bust

This makes no sense. They both started in New England.

Brady started 2 years at Michigan, leading them to Bowl games both seasons and beating 2 SEC schools.

Wow. Going to a bowl game these days is just such a huge accomplishment.

No one knew who Tom Brady was until Bledsoe got hurt is the point. No one who wasn't a Michigan or New England fan that is.

I did. Tom Brady had a good college career. Somehow there became this myth that he sucked or didn't even start. Not true.

Uh, yep. They have Brady, and Cassel was going to earn $14 million or so to back him up. The purpose of franchising him was to trade him all along. This move is not indicitave of his play...well, only that New England believes Tom Brady is better.

i know it's mindblowing

dual frickover of the following:

1. he did lose PT his last year to the more physically superior drew henson

2. he did get drafted late

3. the media played up the "omg he was drafted so late" bullshite so much it made people go crazy
