Basketball is a bigger sport, and would be a bigger deal for LSU.

But personally, I'd probably prefer another baseball NC.

ETA - The people who put either sport ahead of football need to be deported.

i want both, but
quote:

There should be no question. Basketball without a doubt. The national exposure for the University would be 10 times that for anything we do in Baseball.

i love both of them, but basketball would do LSU more good than baseball at this point.

basketball needs a surge...

Might have something to do with following that up with a 17-15 season.

But we got more pub than winning the 2000 CWS.

Why is it okay to want baseball over football, but not bball over baseball?

If you're reasoning is because we have more tradition and championships in football. Then you you should want a women's track championship over baseball. If its because football is bigger than bball, then bball >>>Baseball.

But how anyone would take a baseball NC over a basketball NC is beyond me.

basketball not a doubt in my mind...in fact, i'd trade a championship in basketball this year for a championship in football next season (assuming we can still finish around 10-2)

It's a shame that college baseball isn't bigger. A lot of that is due to the fact that, due to weather, it's popularity is limited to the South & Sunbelt.

baseball would mean more, because we're known as a baseball school

Awh, no. Baseball could be boring a lot of times. Basketball and Football is very entertaining at times.

I like Baseball don't get me wrong but when you have a score of 1-2 for 3 hours of sitting in the sun, rain or cold it could become very tiring especially if the inconsistency come to play.

I enjoy national titles in all sports.

If you were to force me to choose, I would say a national title in basketball.

The reason would be that the NCAA Basketball Tournament is huge nationally. In fact, it may even rival the BCS National Championship game in national attention.

Baseball is very big at LSU. But, it not big nationally. In fact, baseball doesn't have a national tv network broadcasting it's games.

Baseball has grown in the last 20 years but, it just started getting the Super Regionals broadcasted about 3 years ago. Baseball is a more regional sport. It's comparable to NCAA hockey.

SEC Championship? Basketball!

National Title? Don't make me choose, but since there have been two in Football and five in Baseball in the last 18 years..Basketball!

Baseball titles are about to start coming back to BR once again soon enough.

College Hoops is still the NCAA's #2 sport, March Madness has a massive following, and I grew up everybit as much an LSU Hoops junkie as I did Football. Was absolutely heartbroken in 1981, 1986, and 1987 when LSU came up just short on incredible NCAA title runs.

Basketball. Second favorite sport behind football, slightly above baseball.
