Should We Install Synthetic Turf at Tiger Stadium?

Watching the start of the Sugar Bowl, I was just thinking about how we own the Superdome. Then, except for the 2005 SEC Championship Game against Georgia, we have owned the Georgia Dome as well. Would we have even more of a home field advantage if we put some type of synthetic/artifical turf in at Tiger Stadium to take advantage of our speed? The actual turf there is terrible anyway.
What do ya'll think? Pros/cons?

no...it would ruin the tradition

i say YES
Our piece of shite field negates all of that speed that we recruit.

Yes...the cost of maintenence would be almost nothing. I bet LSU spends hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on the grass and field looks better.

Con: a lot more injuries. Plus, they grow a supergrass right down the road in foley taht is as fast as turf

Yes.
Tradition is good, but good god, some of you are willing to give up speed just to say "Oh LSU blah blah tradition blah blah". We're recruiting lightning fast kids, but our field is garbage.

there are not a lot more injuries on these new turfs, they are fantastic
the biggest con with these turfs are the heat buildup in the south, but that can be managed. there is very little maintenance savings, just different types of maintenance
if we could actually grow that foley shite, then yea it would be great...but our grounds crew is absolutely incompetent - so nothing short of firing them, or switching to field turf, is going to solve it

You have the turf grass confused with Astro Turf.

Our field has been a joke for years. Even with the recent improvements, the drainage sucks. Remember the second half of the SC game last year? The more modern fieldturf surfaces are a lot easier to maintain and aren't as tough on the body as older synthetic surfaces. They should absolutely make the switch.

1) turf field
2)black uni's

I say that is BS! I have been on West Monroe's turf for over 20 home games and that included games in September and that is a complete MYTH!!! You could not tell a difference...it was hot everywhere, in the air and ground.

Then put it in. I'm not talking about Astroturf here. I am talking about the stuff that they have in the Superdome.
Or, anything faster than what we have now.
Or, anything better than what we have now.
Or, anything that is not a sandfilled mud pit.
Just anything, really.
