An average SEC quarterback sucks compared to a NFL ready starting quarterback. And that is what you are wanting, an NFL caliber quarterback.
The worst thing that may have ever happened to the Alabama fanbase was having Tua, Mac, and Bryce back to back to back. Those guys made many Alabama fans think that was to be expected at quarterback. In fact, they were anomalies. What should be expected are McElroys, Sims, and Cokers.

Ehhh, I think some of that is era oriented. If 15 years ago Saban had needed to go 4-5 wide and throw it 35 times a game to compete, he would've done so. And besides, its a given Alabama recruits better than anyone in the country, and your fanbase expects it. Why would the QB position be any different than say CB or WR?
